I genuinely fear all thief map achievement hunter.

This achievement is so insane.

The math of a guy who did it, took him 2,5 years. He needed 1600 of those. For around 7500 Gazelleskin maps to even get them. With them being at 40000 gil nowadays, the maps alone cost 300million. He made around 200 million himself with all the maps.

When the only rare items from it were given by moogle events... Maybe thief maps should be made tradeable to make it easier for the achievement hunters

Its not that bad. 21 clears took me 1530 maps, 190 being farmed by myself, the others provided by 7 other people. It took about 2000 gazelle maps for me and I made much more money, than I spent during that process. It took me like 3 or 4 months to get the achievement done, while only playing in the evenings (maybe 3-4 hours of farm per day)

I'm curious as someone who hates myself and has way too much desire to see myself cry. Can you do the Gazelle Maps solo? Or is it better as a group?

Yeah, was wondering for how much he bought those maps back then, JP servers were pretty cheap sometimes - makes sense to make more gil at least on average.

Well, you "only" contributed ~15% of the maps, so it only took you 15% of the time? xD While for him he did over 80% by himself. I get that grouping up and each doing their own part accelerates this achievement a lot though.

So if you don't join discords for this purpose you are in for a lot of pain and suffering. Sorry, but I still don't like it even if its "just" 3-4hrs for 120 days in your case. You could hunt like 2000-3000 S mobs that take 10min on average for that time-investment. Still think its too much, but I get collectors wont be afraid of trying it.

You can solo lvl 80 8man maps with bluemage nowadays. You go as healer with basic instinct and mighty guard.

The last Blue Mage update made them much, much easier to solo. I cleaned up my guide and added some videos for the altars, working on videos for the canals

They 80 altar bosses have so much HP and can't be stunned. Every fight is 2-3 minutes long, it gets painful. However, the loot is very nice
