(Serious Question) Why does the ffxiv community HATE Midlander Hyur Females so much?

midlanders are very pretty, it makes me jealous

I've never heard this before, the midlander woman in our FC purposefully rp's as kind of ditzy.

They hate Midlander? I thought Lowlander a.k.a Lalafell has siphoned all the racial hatred in this game.

Midlander women are very attractive. Because they're the generic Human Stand-In and are ubiquitous, they need to be something really special to stand out and that's not always easy to do.

To be frank, I've never heard of people hating on them, but I've received not-so-kind comments of my Femroe and have heard similar stories from other Femroe players.

Perhaps my tastes are just wonky; I main an Elezen and think the race as a whole are gorgeous.

I almost never see it on the forums, on the subreddit tho there's a lot of very bizarre elitism about this.
Anything even slightly cute or sexy gets demonized to hell by some very loud people who think that they're oh so original because their character has a scar and wears the PLD Artifact armor.
And a lot of those people don't know how to vocalize it so they jump to stuff like '' unoriginal/ generic '' too.
While they run around in their PvP Genji cosplay or Artifact gear which is apparently the height of originality.

I never actually see this ingame and it's rare I see it on the forums altho it does happen.
On the subreddit tho there's a lot more people like that.
Even worse when people post commissions of their characters or cosplay it feels like basically every time a mod has to step in and be like '' can you people stop being so god damned rude? ''.

Personally I think that Male Au'Ra has the worst running animation it looks very odd to me.

But per usual if something is feminine in any way then people will be more likely to complain about it especially in more shaming ways.

The running animation is horrific, it looks so bad. It's the major reason when I would fantasia often, I would fantasia to miqo'te instead of midlander. I started this game as a highlander, because I hated it so much. The faces aren't the best, but that's nothing in comparison to having no major clipping issues, or having my character's racial features cut off. I actually switched to Hyur midlander twice before ending up back on my usual au ra earlier this year. I couldn't do it, I wanted a character without issues, but the compromise of that animation just wasn't worth it. Plus I do like au ra much more anyway.

I've heard generic and players complain about the run but it's been far and few.

If anything I've heard far more ppl complain about how catgirls are annoying and unoriginal or how Lala's are creepy potato gremlins.

I definitely don't hate them or even dislike them ftm, but the faces are all very similar and all the midlander NPCs just end up looking the same just with different hair. I do think their facial rigging is... average and they look kinda dead-eyed when not emoting. I would actually say of all the original races that miqo'te females are way worse in the dead-eyes and bad facial rigging department, which is why I can never stick with one (migo'te that is) for more than a couple weeks before going back to au ra or elezen. The female midlander run as others have said is somewhat distracting, but I can live with it, my GW2 main is Sylvari and they run the same way. Heck, I don't even mind the elezen run (the slow walk is another matter entirely).

Now, all of that said. The voice 8 female midlander chuckle and laugh are the best out of all females, period.
