Didn't some job characters show up in some dungeons in the background?
Not really, the lvl 80 quests felt like a conclusion in their stories so i wasnt surprised they would stop making more.
Also im im pretty sure they said theyd be doing Role Quests instead[which i found enjoyable].
Also dev wise we have like 20 classes now, figuring out 20 different scenarios for each is a P.I.T.A.
I can understand why they dont want to make more.
Tho id love to get job titles going forward regardless of job quests existing or not[they could put them in the lvl 90 achievement or something]
I'm part of the minority, but I didn't really care for the role quests; I liked the individualized quests for each job. Obviously I realize why they made the change. 5 role quests is easier and less work than 19 job quests. But I still feel disappointed by the news.
Just another way square has found a way to give us less and less content as time goes on.
Wouldn't be surprised if we didn't even have role quests in another expansion or two.
This really sucks. Some job quests were awful some were great and I want to know their next chapter.
So the job quests for Shadow Bringers I don't remember if it even had the blue marker on it because it didn't actually unlock anything. Part of it was remembering where the lv 70 job quest left off because you'd basically find that NPC in that location. They all were just travel and view cutscenes that I recall and when completed gave you some free materia.
So long as we get job quests for the new jobs that are added, I'm fine with the older jobs being considered 'finished' for now. Many of the job stories were arguably getting very repetitive and stale. I like a fair few of the job quest trainers, but I'd rather see some new characters introduced instead of constantly coming back to the same handful over and over again.
I think role quests are a solid compromise, especially if they expand on some meaningful story elements like in Shadowbringers.
