Most people I know gear their BLMs around using buttons for food. Pretty much get INT as high as you can and then use buttons to make up a shortfall in magic accuracy.

I'm currently using a mage's Choker but I am definitely going to switch to a spinel choker. The mages choker gives 15 accuracy, while a Spinel Choker +1 gives 10 magic attack, and 25 lightning potency. For all lightning based spells, you are getting a total of +35 magic attack with the Spinel Choker. For that one slot that is a very large amount of magic attack, more than 2 IV materia worth, while the mage's choker only gives a single IV materia worth of accuracy.
The mage's choker does add mag crit rate though, but I'm not sure how useful that stat is.
I think some people are missing the concept. You use AMP for fires/flare moments (Dungeon Raids) and you use INT/ACC for your thunder/thundara combo moments (Boss fights like Moogle, Ifrit, Garuda, Coin, Chimera, etc or even soloing). For this reason I have 2 sets of gear.
I am very confused on why people are obsessed with Spinel Chokers. They only have AMP & LAMP so they do not affect thundara damage, only add a little bit of damage to thunder. Perhaps on low evasion mobs it would be best but in the majority of cases, a mage's choker will be better for your thunder/thundara fights (unless your a Flamer) while the Rubellite Choker will be better for your dungeon flare moments.
If you defend Spinel Choker by saying your Acc is capped already then I suggest you focus a bit more on INT on your weapon, head and ring slots (Not including Garuda, Garuda should have its own set of special acc gear).
Hope this helps
Coral Ring +1 gives +18 Magic Accuraccy, which is nice.
This leaves your neck free for oodles of (Lightning) Magic Attack Potency.
Int is nice, but Magic Attack Potency really boosts your Thunder (far more than Int) so should never be over looked.
For Garuda I think the Magic Accuracy desierd is around 490ish. I know under 480 I can be resisted but when I'm over 490 I never get resisted (I usually go in with about 500).
I have a question about best blm hands. Once upon a time I had ringbands with 2x m.crit pot around 78 iirc, which I sold and replaced with Mage's Halfgloves. Just curious if 3x ringbands, say around 100 m.crit pot would be better than the halfgloves, or should I leave well enough alone?
Thanks.
