None of this information is useful. The dimensions of your screen are irrelevant, it's the features of it such as maximum resolution. Everyone has a keyboard and mouse. You'll be much better off if you learn about at least a few of the technical terms and details of a computer.

Anyway as far as where to buy. Alienware is overpriced like Macs are. iBuyPower is one of the best places to get a decent PC without a lot of hassle. If you want to learn more about the innards of computers and put one together yourself (it's really not that hard after you do a little research), go for newegg.com.

lol none. Laptops are highly limited when it comes to video cards. Fact.

Buy a desktop PC. With this game... you can get a single vid card. But preferably sli/cross fire.

A Remote Client basically lets you access your primary computer from anywhere in the world from another PC like a laptop.
because your primary rig will be doing all the real work, you can pretty much use just about any computer with a decent net connection.

the game does have very minor input lag when running through RC, but it beats the hell out of spending $1800 on a machine that will be dated by the time it arrives on your door step.

Asus G73

Its the one I use. Medium to High settings. relatively cheap. Heavy as a toddler.

So basically yea MSI gt70 is a good choice and also GT680

my brother has MSI GT683 he can run XIV very smoothly On high res and you wont worry about Cooling pads since it has an extra fan inside Plus 1 button Overclock

The game is running just fine on a laptop! You don't need a desktop PC to run this game.

I use Sony Vaio which isn't even a gaming laptop but more cut out to be used for video editing and watching movies in HD, and I can still play the game on close to maximum setting without it taking away from the performance.
A friend of mine is using her Macbook which is as useless for gaming as it gets, and it still works just fine (lower settings though).
Laptops might need additional cooling though :)

I would hope you mean Vision Engine CC, because CCC has been deprecated for a long time.

Anyway I have the GPU Clock speed at 960 and graphics RAM at 1445 capped. What's letting me 'max out' FFXIV is disabling depth of field, ambient occlusion, and keeping shadow detail on standard. And that's because they're simply broken on account of a crappy, incomplete game engine.

The rest of my FFXIV settings are 1920x1080, 8x AA, 10 drawing quality, 5 background quality, etc.

Running on an Asus G60JX that I've had for a little over 2 years now. Cost me $900 when I bought it.

Core i5 @2.27GHz (Hyper-threaded dual core)
NVidia GTS 360M @ 1GB GDDR5 VRAM
4GB DDR3 RAM

Running at these settings with a near constant 25+ in Ul'dah, 30+ in Grid/Limsa, 40+ in fields and 50+ in dungeons/buildings/primals

They no longer make this laptop, but any of the current Asus Republic of Gamers laptops should do you very well, especially compared to 2 year old hardware. Don't buy that overpriced Alienware crap.

It's probably worth noting that the game was originally tweaked for nVidia gfx, and as a result the nVidia GPUs run it much faster/smoother than do AMD GPUs. Yet another dropped ball that I hope is fixed in the 2.0 engine, not just a little, I want to see the full use of my rig someday.
I have yet to see my processor break 10% avg. across it's cores, and in Crossfire my GPUs don't go over 35% each, I dunno how the hell they managed to get that to happen, a VSync w/ a decimal in the wrong place or something but it's really f'd up. Even the Diablo III beta manages to use my cards, so much so that I had to turn on VSync cause who needs 200 FPS there comes a point where it's just overkill^^.

I also played with HP something $900 from costco i7, ati 5770. same setting as lenovo y470

Asus G53SW, is my current one. $850 i7 nvidia 460m. run on standard no problem. can be run with like 10 hours no problem

oh btw, another reason don't go alien... friend bought exactly the same i7 nvidia 460 alien. It can't run in windows mode for some weird reason XD as long as you switch to other window it crashed. he claimed he already fix ffXIVboot to Nvidia only. for some reason, the alien version has the optimus thing...
