In my opinion easy solution to stop the mass reposing is put the tax upfront.
Aka you pay the taxes when you post not when it sells. That way every time you pull off a 100k item to undercut by 1 gil you lose 5-8k gil instantly.

That’s why I only undercut by 1 gil, sure you may think if seen petty, but am I ruining the market for everyone else?
Occasionally I will just say fck it and undercut by hundreds of thousands if gil if the dude I’m competing with just won’t stop undercutting by thousands of gil on items that cost hundreds of thousands of gil, eventually bring the price down to rock bottom anyway.
It's not petty to undercut by 1 gil. In fact, it keeps the market on that particular item from crashing. It's petty to undercut someone out of spite. "What's this? Someone put the same item up as me, and undercut me by a gil?? Well, screw this a-hole, I'm going to cut his price by 50k. Yeah! That'll show him to undercut me by a gil!" So the undercutter finally wins over a buyer, at 50k less than what it would have sold. There was also a good chance that the buyer would still buy the item that was not undercut to spite the player that undercut their item by 1 gil. That's how the market is.
That's basically the attitude that the undercutter sets off. He/she usually has no clue how the game's economy works, and thinks they are doing a service when all they are really doing is cutting themselves short. That said; it isn't always wise to undercut by 1gil. If the average price is much lower than the going rate, chances are undercutting by 1 gil isn't going to help much. I totally get severely undercutting price spikes to bring that crap back down to more reasonable rates. Some players think that monopolizing a particular item allows them to set the price at whatever they want. Not so much.
QFT.
Additional retainers are P2W when it comes to making gil. Just from having more sales listing up on the MB to spamming quick ventures with 10 retainers.
I have the 2 standard retainers on the standard account. My main's retainers, I'm always updating the prices. Alt retainers, I check once or twice daily, it doesn't matter so much if people undercut me because it's guaranteed some of my stuff will sell with the sheer number of things I have up for sale across characters.
So I can imagine, someone with the max number of retainers and on standard account probably will have a much easier time making gil.
I was there for Raise III. Remember that? BCNM60 I think it came from. No one never bothered to 1g that one. Infact I think it still reached the highest price(4mil) for a spell drop..(for those that never played, the totally casual player can make 4mil in 4months from doing FFXIV dailies. FFXI..that same person might need 2 years LOL).
Ah yes, Refresh is another one too. Oh wow I feel spoiled by FFXIV now. Lets bw glad we dont have to buy spells/get them as drops. That was a market nightmare.
It's "Lose" not "Loose" by the way
I'm one of those evil undercutters because I am poor in reality and can only use the two retainers so limited space to sell.
There is no real instruction.
For example if someone put out a thing for 200k and manage to sell it.
And then some random guy happend to have the same thing and decides to sell it for 100k without looking at the sales log. And then there we have u who sells it for 99k and gets mad by someone undercuts you by 10k.
Market Board has no rules, instructions whatsoever.
