I would in no way call the crown an arbitrarily change. The male crown having extra undyeable blue flowers makes it look decidedly more male presenting then the default one for the women and is likely a reference to how King and Queen Crowns differ in flare and size in pop culture.Quote:

I agree there is a very long history of things being designed as "gender-tailored" counterparts, but there is no consistency between the degree of difference and whether they are presented as two gender-locked items or one unisex item that changes appearance.
e.g. the Moonfire Vest and Moonfire Halter are the exact same shirt with the necessary addition of a bikini top for the female version, but the single-item Endless Summer Top is entirely different based on character gender.
As for trying to see the patterns or "logic" I feel you should step back and relax.
I can't possibly know exactly why the Moon Fire items are treated that way and the Endless Summer isn't but if I had to guess I'd say that the old AF Moonfire sets that came out around the time maps started being a thing were separated to bloat the the number of crafts to encourage more map running. Instead of being able to sell 1 item to males or females you would have to make 1 for males and one for females (twice the mats) ... and the main mat for those sets is used in 11 different crafts.
Endless Summer isn't in anyway connected to crafting, it's an event glam.

IDK, maybe they figure in 2 years they might want to unlock that glam to. Maybe that's why the endless summer can go in the armoire but the Valentines day stuff can't, maybe they figured they wanted to stop filling the armoire with gender locked things now cause it's a hassle converting all that stuff when you change genders?
Who knows? Not really a big deal IMO, this game and the devs are always in a state of growth/ change.

You might not see a difference, but clearly a number of other people do.
This current event hair pin has A-completely different Flowers on the male version and B- fewer flowers on the male version with allows for C- the ability to see more of the detail of the pin on the male version including a cool golden band. I can personally see how different they are and I would personally prefer the male version as it looks more mature and far less "princess" like (Tall AF Femroe with short hair. She doesn't dress like a dude at all but would def prefer the more mature look).
The reason you don't care about the differences is because you like the female version just fine the way it is. Which has been what I've been saying this whole time about people in here and their fake praise setting them up to fall the next time we get another "Valentines Day 2020" like event where they give dudes something really cool that females can't wear and give females .... something made for Lalas.

I would say the quest itself gives us reason to think that the rewards would be gendered. Look at how they're given out in the quest: peach corsages for the three girls (nothing for Hyuran Boy) and the monocle for Damielliot.
That's what I was talking about, people seeing these items advertised online and thinking they were gender locked.

I don't feel like the designs are different enought to worry about them being different or not having access to the other one, but then it just seems strange for them to do it to begin with. (Maybe if they already had the flowers modelled from something else and just have to stick them in place?)
Also, the Lord's Suikan - a reward from a previous year's LLD event if I'm not mistaken - has peach blossoms on it, so the female corsage would match it better than the male design with the star-shaped flowers.
On a side note, does anyone know what the flowers on the male corsage actually are? Is it just what the peach blossoms look like as they're opening up, or is it some other flower they've picked (or invented) instead?
