Toxic Mentor Problem

Here some friendly advice:
The way you are behaving right now, can get you a temp fourm ban if someone wants to report it. Just calling someone a "jerk" can get you a temp ban. GM's love handing them out over silly little things.
As well, the way you are acting right now isn't supporting your side of the story either. If you talk in game like you are here right now, I can understand why mentors are getting mad and being mean.

New players should really be the ones to ask for advice, or that's how I've always done it.
Whenever advice is offered, the first reaction is usually the "I pLaY fOr FuN" or "you don't pay my sub" line.

To add to what everyone else said, the fact you can use ANY crown once you get mentor status just boggles my mind.

So, for example, you could find a mentor who unlocked his status via crafting using a PVE crown with no level 60+ combat jobs, which adds onto newbies getting even more confused. It's that silly.

To add onto that, the requirements are so stupidly low, one of those RMT companies even reached mentor status with one of their characters and is currently inviting sprout bots into the Novice Network to spam there as well. This is unacceptable.

We need a mentor purge. And soon.

What can we do?
We've all talked about how much of a joke Mentor status is.
I'm one, and people start getting buttpissed about trying to help in dungeons and stuff so I rarely help there.

NN for me is MUCH better. Everyone's usually trying to help whoever has a question and they are appreciated and
thankful about it.
If ya'll stop the whole "Don't tell me what to do" BS maybe people would be more willing to help.

Us Mentors get treated like crap as well too sometimes.
There is always bad apples in each side lol.

I'm starting to think it wasn't the mentors in this case.

How is someone giving you advice—be it rotational or mechanical or whatever—demanding perfection?

The way you’ve reacted in this thread is honestly why I have my crown hidden and don’t say anything anymore. I’ve tried helping in the past. I’ve been polite as I can be even when I’m getting frustrated in that Extreme trial someone queued for and I got in Mentor Roulette. I just can’t take the verbal abuse anymore. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

possibly, depending how many people the chat allows in and if any of those are willing to help anyone with anything and if it allows too many people then you can't even read anything because it moves too fast, just like popular twitch user chats.
