remember when killing mobs 10+ above you was how you leveled?

they had to lower it or the dungeon woulda been imposible due to the changes

They should do both, lower requirements on dungeons while also giving benefits and some penalties for bringing an alliance through. But since it most likely won't happen until 2.0~, may as well just have 6-man/8-man dungeons in the meantime.

It failed because it was boring. It is still designed for Casual Players. That's why it is so heavily Instanced. They want people to be able to log in and easily find a party instead of being forced to deal with LS drama & politics. I support Content-Finder (sorry Rokien) ;>P

I am tired of this narrow definition of what MMO's are supposed to be. Yes it stands for Massively Multiplayer Online (Game), but there are many types of MMO's out there.

There are 1st Person Shooters, 3rd Person Action/Adventures, Space Sims, Naval Sims, Flight Sims, Pet Sims, Strategy Games, Puzzle Games, Dance Games, Sports, Racing, Music, even Texas Holdem is an MMO...oh and RPG's.

However, each of these "genres" has several if not dozens of sub-genres (esp. RPG's). If I were to make a generalization about MMORPG's it would probably be that they contain quests which you can do alone and/or in a group. Every MMORPG I've ever played had a combination of both (FFXI being the exception in that it heavily favored group play).

In any case, FFXIV is going to be what it becomes. Not a carbon copy of XI, WoW or any other game. Personally, I did not like this game at launch and I barely played during the "extended free trial period". Since 1.20 & esp. 1.21, I am enjoying it very much.

Now I just need a better LFG option with a Content Finder and I'm ready to PUG when I feel like it and solo when I feel like it.

Only if people used the party search function more... I've been playing around with it since I see JP players always shouting to join from party search feature and to read the comment it's really really convenient.

1. You click on party
2. Click on start inviting party or w/e the option on the right side (I'm on JP client sorry dunno what they put in the NA one)
3. Choose the quest or Instance raid or w/e, if you're lazy like me just leave that one alone.
4. Choose the members you looking for... again if you're lazy like me just leave it alone
5. Continue 4 if you need other class/jobs, if not go to 6
6. Type in the comment - HERE is the important part where you type what quest, raid, event you're doing what jobs you're looking, any other comments I normally put everything here.
7. Done

Yea i've been using the Looking for party comment alot cause when i search i hardly ever find any parties advertizing.

Its worked a few times but mostly if i either shout around or just wander it = having the same LFP comment on from login to logout.

More 2-4 man type dungeons would be great. as a newer player without a Linkshell at all (still looking please love me T-T ) since i can more often find one or two folks looking for a dungeon run. But i often see either 8 people in their linkshell heading somewhere or no groups able to fill the 8 total slots.

Either way it means no run (Still haven't been able to finish the Ifrit quest i got at lvl 30ish.)

Wouldn't be limited to how many members you could take if it wasn't instanced...just saying.

Hey, if we can't get solo content then we not getting 8+ content

Just means they dropped the requirement of a Full Party.

We should have this but for primals as well. Too many times I've had someone drop out of a party, but we were forced to disband because it was too late at night to bother shouting for more people. I'd rather see a solution to that as well.
