Rework the market system to allow purchase offer listings and eliminate undercutting

It REMOVES player control of the market by not letting you see an accurate picture of the current marketplace, only an accurate picture of the marketplace as it previously existed.

It DOESNT give players the ability to mass purchase items regardless of price.

It DOESNT let players see who else is selling items they are selling, or selling what they want to buy.


Those are three gigantic issues in a competitive marketplace.

I really would be okay with the market system as is if SE would just do something about the accursed bot farmers.

It's extremely difficult to sell anything if they're using an undercut bot on top of their crafting/gathering bots to ensure their prices are always the lowest.

I'll share some of the ways that I think the OSRS is better, and see if you agree on any of the points.

Are you sick of wanting to buy something, but they're all in 99 stacks? OSRS, you can buy the amount you want of the cheapest priced item, no worries.

Sick of having to constantly check the MB prices that constantly fluctuate for good deals? Just set what you want to pay, go to sleep, and wake up to find you got a good deal with much less effort required, like in OSRS!

Sick of people over-pricing items, buying out all items, and price-fixing on the market board? How about we just set our buy offers so we only pay what others had to pay for them in the past, like with OSRS!

Sick of your items not selling instantly, and constantly being undercut almost as soon as you put them up because people can see your prices? Just set your item for - 5% the average and watch it sell instantly, due to people's buy offers being up already, like in OSRS!

Sick of lowbie leveling items being expensive? Well in OSRS you can sell these weapons and arnour in stacks, meaning you can sell a lot of a cheap items without it taking up a lot of market board slots, making it worthwhile to make large amounts of cheap lowbie armour and weapons! Prices would go down for those leveling in the game!

False, false, good. That's the point. You don't need to see what Jimmy is selling his stones for. You only need to see what players as a whole are buying the stones for. We don't need Butch Magnus coming in and selling his stones for exactly 1 Gil less than Jimmy.

You can actually mass perchase items. You can set the max price of items you want to buy as high as you like, and set the number of items you want to buy. And each time someone adds that item to the market, you'd automatically buy it out. Its actually a better system than we have now for buying a lot of items.

You kinda just outed yourself right there, showing that you don't actually know how the GTS/GE actually works.

Because she has not described all the details to this system, and the ones she has described are not being properly understood by... People who just can't understand it for some reason. By playing it, you may be able to get a clearer sense of how it works than it simply being described.

If I buy a stack of 99 because that's all that's available. I use what I need then split the rest into smaller stacks and mark up the price and profit.

I don't constantly check the market board trying to save a few gil. If there is something I want badly I check once a day and decide if the price is right for me and move on to something else.

Items are never overpriced. If I don't want to pay a price I don't.

I don't need my items to sell instantly? A week for items to sell isnt a long time and on average that's the longest something I put up takes to sell.

Low leveling items expensive? Only if they are used in leveling leves. That's a supply and demand thing. Your system wouldn't fix this problem anyway and it doesn't need to.
