When I first started playing back near the end of AAR, I was on ps4, up until a few weeks into SB before I quit (trash expac imo). In the time i was gone i got to build a nice rig and played WoW until bfa burned me out and ShB stuff started popping back up.
I had to go to Walmart to get a new Ds4 so I could play on my PC. The controller functionality is too good on ff14 and even tho I was using my razor naga trinity in WoW before, this game felt weird AF and clunky on a keyboard/mouse. So here I am, one of those PC gamers on a controller Haha:D

I use both and i have no problems doing dps as a healer and even as a bard.
If i know the rotation, i can just do it.
And to that person who saw a slow clicker: MAybe they're just that? Slow. People can be slow either way.
I have that weird problem where i can't stretch my fingers too far without it getting uncomfortable and i would fatfinger a lot of buttons then.
And i'm also bad in... hitting more buttons at once (please never watch me play mario odyssey as comparison...w as horrible with many button presses in a row.)
But clicking is totally chill. If i stand in aoes, it's me reacting slow since that is my issue, not clicking my skills.
And sometimes i eat something, but it's still not a clicking problem. -

The only thing I don't like is how uncustomizable the controller is in the game menus...It's a hassle to set up the controller for a ctrl, shift, alt functionality like you can on keyboard. I am a pure-clicker (beside opening some menus). It's actually easier for me, I would mishit way too much on keyboard, I know myself too well in this case!
I just go by muscles memories, a bit trianing makes me stop the need to look at my skills. (also means if I move any skill, it will mess me up until I got used to it, lol) I have no issues to have a clear view on whats going on and all. Doing my rotation perfectly yadda yadda.
No idea why someone mentioned it's the worse way here? yeah if someone is the kind of "eagle search button", of course that would be bad but that can be a clicker or a keyboard user likewise! -

But I'll 100% click through skills for crafting. Its saved me from carelessly wasting Good conditions for Tricks of the Trade because if I don't take my finger off the mouse's clicker it doesn't register as using the ability. It's kind of like "wait- I still have my finger on it!" in Chess. -
