No one asking for the genderlock to be removed is asking for the things you care about to be neglected though. You're just assuming that would happen, but we have no reason to believe it would.

Probably safe to assume they're painfully aware of this now.
I wasn't aware Square was allocating an infinite budget to this project. The more you know.
"but we have no reason to believe it would"
Well..... see the above. Making things costs money. Assuming their budget has a limit. Doing something with the money means it can't be spent on something else.
How about them Eureka threads?
Only their response will tell, in the end. but rather than focus on one race or another, there is a doscussiom to be had about genderlocking can affect more than just character creation and cut unto the race's society and the player's perceptions of each race as the writers and devs have to justify their limitation over and over again.
actually, we do. Listen to the reasons why Yoshi said we don't have both gendered races ready for Shadowbringers. He said "there wasnt enough time to add everything" [paraphrasing, there were many interviews about this] . we can then infer it takes quite an effort to develop the models, animations, assets, character creation, equipment models...etc.
So yes, I do think we have reason to believe this will take away dev time from other projects they have planned for Shadowbringers. Removing genderlock is not like flipping a switch, its literally creating 2 new character models.
Every time a gender lock thread is made Yoshi-p kills a kitten.

Or SE could allocate more budget/staff to the project so that Yoshi could do it without impacting the rest of the project. That would be the ideal solution here. We're hoping that the fan outcry will let Yoshi request the additional resources from SE. We're not expecting them to cancel other parts of the game to remove the genderlocks. That's just silly.
Are you for real? I'm not joking, really asking this.
We are 2 months away from the expansion and you want them to allocate more resources and deviate from the planned release , working schedule?
Do you even realize what you're asking, or just think that if you "build it, they will come" scenario is at hand?
Dear god, we have reached the pinnacle of entitlement.
