Also those weapons were obtainable week 3 of the patch if you beat o10s. Odds are relics won't be better because they always start off at a lower then whats available in the raid ilvl then in later patches are brought up.

Patches do not drop day to day, or even week to week, so please stop with the exaggerated comments with how quickly gear gets outdated. We are talking months between patches, and a new patch should put you right back to work. New expansions is where it is a good idea to allow 'sharpened' players to progress without much worry for upgrading, but only to a certain extent and that is one of the things I feel this game does really well. A sharpened player will not have to worry about upgrades for about half-way to max level, but after that, you have to continuously upgrade and that is part of the fun (in my eyes anyway).

When you've reached the top, there is nowhere else for you to go. Why pave the path to boredom?

Because it's a treadmill. Your not actually progressing, but running in place until the next expansion. It is an artificial time waster.

You are in the faction that complains about too much stuff, you can't argue about that.

Sure it would be nice if gear would last longer but it never has and lets be honest here, the wannabe relic came way to late to be relevant in any way. Also a lot of people who did the real relics won't do this crap either so for them the tome or crafted weapon lasts long enough.

well at least this gear will last you till next expansion
and guarantee they will do the same they did near end of HW
double tome cap
a side quest to give you good accessories aka the proto ultima quest

they do have to spice up the same gear treadmill they have been doing for ages

Do you know for a fact Eureka will be a better weapon? I do not think that will be the case, Relic has been useless so far in SB.
I could see points however, it takes like 7 weeks for the tome weapon then it for sure feels like it gets replaced with something better weeks after

I'm really not, i've been playing this game since 1.0 release, I love the game but it's stagnant. I also haven't posted often on these forums because I don't like to complain. I've made maybe 3 threads and have 111 replies as of right now; that's not a lot of complaining. It shouldn't matter even if I was, that's what a forum is for, to express one's opinions and insight in a community they are apart of. As adults we shouldn't be slandering opposition we should be understanding, and weighing of opposition even if we disagree.

If it is within 15 ilvl's and has 5 open sockets for materia then yeah i'm almost certain it will be and the i355 relic wasn't useless if you melded it, it was better than a lot of equipment up to savage sigma gear.

If the Pyros weapon is i385, pentamelds may not beat the i390 because of the +1 weapon damage the tome weapon gives you, and it won’t be the i400.

It would really depend on the stats on the weapon, I think. For example, if your MCH Pyros weapon ended up with Skill Speed on it, it will not be better than the i390 Genesis weapon because Skill Speed is not good for MCH. Even with 5 VI melds. Same for NIN.

yeah that's what i mean, it will be BiS for some jobs and not for others, but I think it will be BiS for the majority of them.
