It depends on your Internet speed and your Hard drive space. When the ps4 starts the copying process, it is optimizing space. For some who have the original PS4 with the 500GB, it can take a while.
I have PS4 Pro with 1GB download speed and a 2TB harddrive and have 0 issues when downloading updates.

I have a PS4 Pro with at least 75% of my hard drive free. It still took 20-30 minutes for the file copying phase. I don't generally leave my PS4 in rest mode, but I guess I'll start doing that on patch days.
