What do you think was the worst thing this game experienced from 2.0 until now?

I have plenty of things that I hate since 2.0 (hunts, atma grind, bowmages, diadem, eureka, zurvan to name a few), but if there's ONE thing that I highly despise and I think it's very stupid is....the story skip potion.

Let me say this: I don't like the story BUT I do respect people that like it AND I do respect the devs at first for locking content behind it and essentially telling us to "suck it up": I honestly respect that decision because I understand, it's a story based game and if you don't like just skip it - there are hundreds of thousands of billions of trillions of ways to make the story not lock the content, but they picked A way and they stuck with it and I genuinely applaud it.

And then story skip potion appeared...and everything instantly lost its value.

"Oh the story is super important, it's a final fantasy game, you shouldn't be allowed to skip it....buuut if you pay us 25 bucks we'll let you skip through it!"

That sounds like hypocrisy to me, because they were very adamant about keeping the lock, but now we can just skip if we pay cash...so it's basically a "pay2win" mechanic that allows you to progress faster (because some f2p games ask for money for faster progression) and on top of that we have to pay more cash for a level boost.

Granted it's not the worst content released - it's cash shop anyway - but it just shows how little they truly care about the story...afterall if they did why not just keep it locked "naturally" and not behind a paywall?

Eureka. Promised a lot, was a disappointment and replaced the relic system that was flawed but at least managed to bring some life into old content.

The game has been static this entire expansion. They have expanded changes on HW and ARR ideas. The biggest differences are the job gauge system, the new glamour system, and the incoming mannequin system. The real change hasn't happened yet, and I know some people love the game, but do want to see some changes. People threaten to quit or say they quit, but somehow are still around. The responses are not in the interest of changing anything for the better. Counterpoints are now okay with them. Liking content is not okay with them. It's just not acceptable behavior from an adult to go after people for disagreeing.

Eureka and potd. The content is fine but i dont get why we need to do over from level 1 again? I know because story or mechanic reason but cmon... thats really weak excuse from the dev for "max level? Here, we do something so you can fill your exp bar and grind again"

Forced cutscene, yeah thats a big bummer.

Also, can we have not automatically mount off when we speak to npc pls? Iam fine with story npc but normal quest giver? Daily npc?

Diadem to Eureka.

Huge waste of ressources and time.

Players saying they wanted FFXI content in the game, and look what we ended up with.

For me, the worse things that come to mind were how badly SCH was nerfed at the start of 4.0. Another sin added for the devs thinking that bringing a job down instead of the others up is how to fix things. The exception is over-tuning AST. I'm adding another sin for that BS. This felt like a parent giving in to their kid's constant cry for cookies so he/she just gives them the jar and says, "There! now STFU!"

Dark arts spam, and red-headed stepchild treatment of DRK in general. The negligence from the devs given to one of FF's most iconic jobs deserves to be tarred and feathered.

Role skills. This atrocity needs to be burned at the stake and left as horror stories that our children will tell each other at summer camp. A monster that lives only to take away the identity of its victims. See... it even sounds scary doesn't?

Astrologian.

Taking the core aspects of 2 different jobs and throwing them together into one job, and then adding a bunch of extra utility for good measure, is downright stupid.

Astrologian has single handedly warped healer balance ever since it's release purely because it's a hybrid. Healers will never be balanced while it exists in it's current form, because the nature of hybrids is that they're either too good or bad, never in between. Not only that but it severely limits future healer designs, they will have to possess either some form of regens or shields to compete, regardless of their personal gimmick.

Remove the sects, and rework the job to be more about the cards/buff manipulation/instant casts, then it'll actually feel unique enough to stand on its own instead of being a "WHM/SCH with cards". PvP Astrologian is amazing to play, and I hope they push the PvE side to match that.
