You clearly put less effort into your OP than they did into their event.
You don't seem to understand how this works. The OP sets up the rest of the thread. But your OP isn't even worth taking seriously.
It isn't constructive at all. It's, at best, a knee-jerk reaction post.

My only disappointment is they still haven't added this beach music from the benchmark.

I was all prepared to be torqued over this event, because I've been waiting for over the forehead glasses I can wear (Actually, I'd prefer goggles but sunglasses are FAR better than nothing) For over three years. And I hate jump puzzles. And here they put the glasses I want behind a jump puzzle...
...Beat the third set on my first try. Admittedly, it was luck. (Did I mention I hate jump puzzles?) But I'll take it.
As someone else already said before, I'm just so very glad we didn't have to do the top half of the third tower.

I'm not a fan of jump puzzles (only doing them when they block access to something I want) but I don't have a problem with this event.
It's something different compared to what we normally get for a seasonal event. It fills the requests they get from part of the player base for more jump puzzles without those puzzles gating more important content.
Thematically, it's appropriate from our character's point of view since it's summer and that's when more people tend to part in more physically demanding outdoor activities.
The required part of the jump puzzle to get the Endless Summer gear was not difficult at all compared to some of the jump puzzles for the sightseeing log. I got it done at a whopping 5 FPS using mouse and keyboard, falling only 3 times (compare that to the dozen+ falls I had trying to do the sightseeing jump puzzle in Rhalgr's Reach and the hours spent trying to get the Tidegate jump puzzle done). I haven't tried the optional tower (and probably won't) so I can't speak for that.
I understand the feelings among those who hate jump puzzles but you can do it. If you find all the shouts, yells and say chats distracting, disable them while you're on the course. Don't rush yourself even if everyone around you is darting about like a rabbit. It's not timed so feel free to pause between jumps. Sprint isn't needed to negotiate the course (and it might even cause you to fall by overshooting). For the second part of the course, I went by way of the long parallel beams instead of the zig zag beams. A little running start before you jump is all you need to get to the next beam safely even if it's higher than the one you're standing on.

I'd be upset about the terrible cut on the bottoms for females... but I have my fancy augmented rathalos bikini bottoms, that are also still new, to wear instead.

The platform hit boxes are weird, as always. I overjumped at least three and landed on solid air. (Then, the first time, I kept pressing forward and ran off, because I'm a moron.) But otherwise it's not a bad event.
Is there anything up at the top other than a nice view? Haven't tried the optional part yet.

Next year beach theme events can be any of these:
-Volleybomb : a small instance that reuses costa del sol's shore to play volley ball but with a bomb monster. Two people on each team. First team that scores six points wins. The losing team gets the bomb to explode in their faces.
-swimming race of course. Details left to the dev team.
-Eating competition. Its an 8 person instance with ATE mechanics.
-Redolent Rose summer fashion competition.
I still want an actual beach filler episode with a city commander of your choice but that seems even less probable than what I suggested.

Sign me up for eating competition!
lol eating competition with ATE.... ATE!!!!! XD

I don't really see the problem with it, it's just a fun beach time event using something that people have shown they liked in the past. Also the ones that you have to do for the quest are incredibly easy no matter your race. Sure the optional one at the end is a lot harder but you don't get anything from that one and it's just for those that enjoy this type of thing. Me personally, I don't like the jumping puzzles in this game so I didn't really bother too much with the optional one but I still found it a fun thing to do and a lot better then some of their typical go to quest giver A, go to quest giver B go back to quest giver A and you win.
I think this type of game fits the theme of the event, and these events are suppose to be somewhat quick and relatively easy, but still amusing. Not everyone's going to like them but I think they did just fine with this one. Also the ideas you gave sound far more boring and don't fit many of the events plus these events are intended for people of all levels start at like.. fifteen or something so some of them wouldn't even work.
You're welcome to not enjoy the event, but plenty of people like this one and it's original enough considering they typical have just been making fetch quests and fate grinds for most of their events. It's also easy enough that I have yet to see anyone complain about it, and if you for some reason have problems on just the quest portion of the platformer, then just ask someone with a double seater mount to take you, because I've seen people completing it on those with ease.

Lol, I suck at jumping puzzles. Still haven't been able to beat Kugane savage either. ^ ^;
But I rather do this for fun than more fates. I'm just happy that there arent any rewards locked behind the tower. Looks like they're trying different things this patch. xD
