I've played games where the HNM style monsters are not given a set level, but scale to whomever is fighting them. A level 10 player and a level 50 player could each be fighting the monster together, and to each of them it behaves as if it is +5 to their respective level. The loot and xp rewards are also scaled appropriately. It would be interesting if a similar concept could work in this game, allowing any random passerby to take part in content regardless of level.

Personally, I picked green, because it basically sounds like red but with long term goals in mind. I love the journey, but I also love the destination. I also don't mind rested exp, because it's the same damn thing as Guardian Aspect and exp rings/staves, and those didn't bother me either.

And really -- of all the potential things people in this game choose to harp on, of all the myriad of problems this game still has...they bitch because of rested experience? Really? Really. ><;

No, not at all. Though I personally don't see any difference between rested exp and fatigue except one was hated by everyone and the other is welcomed by many, even though they're basically the same exact thing lol.

It's more about SE's "rush everyone to cap so they can do endgame as soon as possible" leveling curve we have now. It makes sense in the game's current state, sure. Most players are already at cap, and the content they're releasing now is more geared towards the majority of the current player base.

This thread has nothing to do with the 1.0 version of the game, as most changes they've been doing recently is to please the current population. But when 2.0 hits, the majority of the players (hopefully) will be newbies. With that in mind, I believe these new players should have the best possible "new player" experience as possible. The earlier they begin to enjoy the game, the more likely they are to stay. And that's why this thread was started, to see what people enjoy in an MMO as a new player.

I am greedy, I want it all. A rich long leveling period with many interesting things to go and do at each and every level. Once at the cap it should still be a journey just of a different type. There should be character growth and improvement throughout both phases of your experience.

Positive vs. negative reinforcement, mainly. One offers you cookies if you don't sell your soul to the Squeenix, the other damns you to SP hell for what amounts to an eternity for the nerdy Squeenix gamer. Or something.
