Very nice, I tried Miracle-Brow myself and had a struggle to get it to work just right.

From experience the calculator overestimates craftmanship a smidge, so the first 2 might cut it a bit fine. Your last rotation looks like the best one so far. Good job :)

It needs less craftsmanship, control and cp, so overall much better.

1'700 Control
549 CP

Rather impressive, hadn't imagined using Rumination again. You can modify it for even lower stats for crafting your first pieces too which is nice.

The only tiny minor nitpick I have is that the Steady II is essential before the Miracle (so all the PbP land), which means if you're manual crafting and proc Excellent for Steady II, you're forced to take a Poor on Miracle. This did actually happen to me. Irrelevant if you're macro'ing and fairly rare, but good to take into account.

Hehe, you‘re good! That‘s exactly my only problem with the rotation as well. If you replace Innovation with Tricks of the trade, then it‘ll never land on poor. But you lose quality (but save CP).

What's everyone doing with their melds for this stuff? In considering that, I'm looking forwards to 4.4 when the next tier of gear is going to be out and wondering what the stat requirements are going to be. My best guess is we're looking at 1700-1750 craftsmanship and 1550-1600 control. I'd like to meld so that the 4.3 gear lasts for both patches, if possible. What I'm seeing from other posts and materia prices in game make me think I may be overestimating how much craftsmanship we'll need. Or maybe 4.3 is still so fresh nobody cares yet.

I'm around 1650 craftmanship, 1730 control and max CP. That's done semi-cheap with no VI overmelds. I mostly aimed for Maxing CP, then filling in on Control.

There's no guarantee what the next patch requirements or best rotations/melds might be, so good to keep that in mind. The way I see it however, the existence of Piece by Piece weakens the usefulness of Craftmanship. There are plenty of rotations that can function well on minimum Craftmanship, but low Control will affect your quality output quite a bit.

It is so hard to say whether higher craft or higher control is better. As usual, it always comes down to specific rotations which requires a certain amt of craft, and the rest is just control. But at the moment, things seem pretty flexible. We haven't seen any particularly critical "sweet spot" for craft.

I think it has to do with our evergrowing cp pool and the introduction of observe+focusSyn since stormblood, which gave rise to this flexibility.

Unless you're too rich, wait until 4.4 when a new tier is added.

I'm going low cost for the moment. You already get enough Craftsmanship just by upgrading all the equipment.

Just by adding a few more points in craftsmanship, you can save another 7 CP (maybe you don't even have to add any craftsmanship, will have to test):

7 CP saved means, you only have to add 3 CP to your CP pool and you can forget about using the cunning tea.
This can be achieved through Matcha HQ (+2CP, but you'd need to add much more craftsmanship), 1 CP each in body, head, hands, or up to 5 CP in secondary tool (would need the crafted one).

(OR you can add 1 CP to your CP pool (for a total of 550 CP after buffs) and replace the second Ingenuity with Ingenuity II for +600 quality.)


HOWEVER: Bear in mind that above rotation is NEVER 100%, as there are 4 chances that one of the touches lands on poor (and there is no "Touch" on excellent):
1. first Prudent Touch (~300 quality less) <--- this one is for almost all rotations
2. first Focused Touch (~2500 quality less)
3. second Focused Touch (~2700 quality less)
4. Byregot's Miracle (~5000 quality less)

Usually, the "Touch" before would be on excellent, however this is not the case here, as there is no "Touch" right before the mentioned ones.

What do I want to say with this you ask? If you have bad luck, the end craft might turn NQ, which is never a good thing.


If you DON'T want a "poor" on your "Miracle" ever, you can use this rotation. You lose ~1'700 quality (need an extra HQ mat), but the risk to NQ is reduced by a lot. (needs 532 CP)
If an excellent pops right before you would use Steady Hand II, just use "Tricks of the Trade" and afterwards Steady Hand II.

You still have the risk on both Focused Touches.

As I don't like rotations that aren't "100%" controllable (as in always giving at least the same amount of quality) I messed around with the Miracle+Brow rotation again.
It's a little bit weaker than the rumination rotation and needs more CP, but still doable: (needs 558 CP)

I think this one is easy to achieve and the quality is guaranteed.
