NEVER add INSTANCE on a patch/expansion day.

FFXIV is a great game and its success reflects that, I think. But the hardware and software infrastructure needs to be there to support that. That we're seeing this issue again, on a regular content patch... it's a bit worrying.

I didn't have any trouble like the raubahn savage incident at all, nor did anyone in my FC report having any. Maybe it's not a problem on Aether data center?

Uhh, when else do you propose they should be added, exactly?

If it bothers you that much just pretend the "patch day" is a few days later than it actually is. Bam, no more congestion.

It's like going to the theaters. Go there on the first day a new hit movie comes out, you're gonna have to deal with long lines. That's just the way it is.

There's a difference between not caring about an issue and there only being so much they can do about an issue.

They have a queue system. Put those duties in the queue. Problem solved. It's not like flipping a switch, technically speaking, but they don't have to reinvent the wheel, here.

*thinks* What? New content is only added to the game on patch days. How do you expect them to ever add new instanced content if you don't want them to add the content on the only days they can add it on?

I think it depends on the time of day that people are trying to do the content. On patch day when I went to log in, I had a queue of 8 people ahead of me to connect to Cactuar. That was the only time on patch day that I actually had to wait for something other than a cut scene.

Alright so, most of them are DPS dungeons, with few tank and healer dungeons, so everyone is waiting a long time for either them to pop up.

As long as the queue system being suggested is handled through simply talking to Cid or related questing NPC and it's done automatically, sure. If you're suggesting they be added via Duty Finder or some other menu, then no. I woudln't suggest that until they beef up their systems first. Adding a system like that will only increase the demand of making them replay-able, the Grand Melee from HW for instance.

I would hope that if they do implement it that it's just a dialogue box that pops up(similar to the vote kick/abandon/confirmation that you will be synced down for the content) where it basically says "You will be placed into queue for the instance" with you needing to select "Okay" or "Cancel" for if you want to queue up, or go do something else.

Doesn't even need to be different day. Was at dialysis when patch came out. Came home several hours later and had no issues at all.
