In optimal 1v1 play, yea it got a bit of a nerf. But that really only applies to a niche part of the game with static groups who coordinate. But for like 95% of everything else, it was a massive buff and I dare say WAR is overpowered at this point with how easy and convenient the job is. Running Fractal (HM) with all 3 tanks, WAR by far is the best of the bunch. I was very skeptical but after playing around with it for a long while I much prefer this faster and more convenient play style. Sure there's less hype behind your burst phases due to 90 second cooldowns over 60/120 but the job on it's own is much more entertaining overall in my opinion. It was either Deliverance-FC burst or it was snooze town as you wait for them to go off CD.
This is really only a nerf to super unrealistic, high end play against savage content and attack dummies in coordinated statics. And it's a fair nerf considering how much more of their kit got a massive buff to compensate.
6 Fell Cleaves, Maim and Path is 8 gcds. Unless you somehow had gauge for 8 Fells in there, despite using Upheaval and 2 Onslaughts?
Never said it's "harder" though(I mean, it's just mashing one button for 10 seconds ffs), only that it's more likely to get screwed up by lag. The whole point of the update is to make the job easy. The post chain I was replying to was just about how it's even more dependent on the IR window now.
While I'm a healer nowadays, the changes make me want to dust off my tank alt and take her for a spin. :)
You know, QoL improvements shouldn't completely change my rotation.
I will say that at times it annoyed me how Berserk needed to synch up with Inner Release, and would sometimes let it slide in order to compensate. But that doesn't mean I want the class completely altered.
SE should NOT look at Warrior again until the next expansion, because I'm almost disgusted at how much they've catered to whiners and warped the class. Especially since IMO there was only one change that was warranted, and that's the removal of the Beast Gauge penalty.
Now that certain *cough* "tools" *cough* are working again I can say playing WAR in both O6s and O7s (aswell as a 10 min dummy run), that the new war does an absolute crap tonne of damage (exaggeration but it is definitely more) over it's previous incarnation with no war-rying about RNG crits or dh. The absurdly high burst dps we are now capable of now more than offsets the fact we miss every other trick attack. I'm also enjoying how the unchained changes have transformed defiance into another defensive CD.
