[Request] Please make event gear harder to get outside of in-game events.

I have a serious and non sarcastic question:
Why does someone else having an item later affect your enjoyment of the item? You had it first, so you have your "unique" time for about a year. It's not as if someone else having it makes yours look or act differently.
I'm a huge proponent of everyone having access to everything, let people get the items they want or make progression towards those items at least. So I don't understand people who want to limit others access to things.
I did the whole yokai grind, got both mounts (it helped I was doing anima weapons at the same time) and I've also got the brickman and shantotto minions. I would LOVE for others to be able to get these things, especially if it would complete their collections or outfits.

I get wanting to limit them to events to make them feel sort of special, but some events never repeat and some people will never experience those events (I have a friend who always away during new years and never gets those items).

it sounds like you want to deny some people access to these items, and that sounds mean. This is why you're going to get pushback.


also, as has been said before, asking SE to out and out STOP something that's proven and working to bring in extra revenue is not going to happen.

I don't get the issue at all.

Optional vanity items are just optional vanity items. None of the seasonal events have high level battle content you need to clear to obtain any of these optional seasonal glamour etc.

So ...why does it matter how people obtain them?

Either way the people who were subbed paid sub fees to play during that month then the others pay fees to obtain off mogstation...there is almost no difference except if you were subbed you got more out of it since you actually got to do the events.

I've been subbed since launch so I've gotten all event items by actually playing, but I don't care how others get it either if they played for it or missed it so they paid for it from mogstation. It literally has zero affect on me how others obtain it.

I don't agree that they should stop making prior event items available. Seasonal is fine, but they should recur.

I would agree however, that they should stop adding them to the Mog-Station.
Granted, I'd also say they should stop adding anything whatsoever to the Mog-Station and stop adding digital goods to real-life merch/events.
However, I've lost that war long ago unfortunately. Won't subjugate myself to its victors' whims though. :-/

I'm pretty sure that most people buying past event items are players who didn't start playing in 2013 and want the things they missed. By removing the option to buy old items you could be removing more income than is gained from the small number of people whose only reason to stay subscribed is seasonal events. The events already have close to 100% participation rate among subscribing players for what I've personally noticed (free stuff is a pretty good motivator), and I don't agree that making the items limited would suddenly cause a spike of returning players who had good reasons to quit in the first place.

Most objections I've seen against the Mog Station stem from the idea that the subscription should include all works of creation made for this game. Since event items are available in game there shouldn't be any issue with them being available in the Mog Station as well. People get more upset by pay-to-win, basic game features or content costing extra money and unique cash-shop-only skins in a subscription game. The last one doesn't bother me but it bothers some.

I respectfully disagree.

I have done every event since I started playing this game (November 2015). I don't care if they add previous event items to the cash shop. It doesn't stop me from doing the event at release ("I can just buy it later off the Mogstation" mentality doesn't apply here), and I don't care if people who missed the event (or who create alts after the event period) want to buy the items from the cash shop. I got them for free and for minimal effort. They spent $5-10 USD on them.

Asking them to remain exclusive to those who participated in the event comes off as entitled to me. It speaks of "I've been playing this game longer than you, so I get all the pretty shinies you weren't around to get" sort of mentality that just irks me. It's my opinion that very few items in this game should ever remain exclusive (specifically, 1.0 exclusives such as the Goobbue, Legecy Chocobo, and WoL brand); event items that take a maximum of 5-10 minutes to get (Yokai excluded here)? No.

So while I've agreed with the vast majority of your posts before, Kosmos, I can't agree with you here.

I really want the Yokai mount since I wasn't playing by the time of the event, it would look really awesome with my Lala too, and I would def buy it from the Mogstation if it comes later. More money for SE, and me=happy customer. I don't see any harm in that. (tho the Yokai mounts will prob never be added to the Mogstation sadly) :(

I don't even like Yo-kai, but I got that mount because of how hilarious it looks.

To be frank, we aren't exactly lacking on special, exclusive items for more invested players, anyway. The Odin emote is one, but also pre-order bonuses, high tier veteran rewards, and the actually never hitting Mogstation legacy bonuses for 1.0 players.

Seasonal event stuff is fine.

It's added to the mogstation a whole 1 year later, what's the problem? The items are far outdated by then anyway. Plus you got them for free during the event.
