disagree with almost all you have to say, but the op does ask for an opinion. remember if you have a 20gla nobody is forcing you to put the cure 3 on it. that is YOUR choice. my choice is i use the ability i want. the difference is they gave us the choice to play our game that way we see fit.

i have 2 questions though.
1. is there anything you like about the game?
2. if not then why are you still playing it?

Granted, it IS my choice to put it on there or not...but that shouldn't be an option. If you are playing GLA at 20, you shouldn't be able to use skills of jobs that are beyond 10...or AT LEAST 20. If you're a 20 GLA, you shouldn't able to use Cure 3, but should have every spell up to 10 (or your current level) available for you. The current system ensures that if you take CON or THM up first, your next few jobs will level far too easily and I personally think that is a drawback.

Essentially...I'm gearing for a less soloable game. Some things should be soloable...but not 90% of the game.. lol

1) There are a few, but most of the game needs a complete overhaul.
2) I've been here probably longer than you and I have hope for the game =)

the game still miles away of what I expected whem I bought my CE box ... But it's been improving , I think the most important improvements are in the STATS departament , no matter how much INT I put on my CON I dont see it improving my damage ( not thats worth the absurd amount i've puted in it ) , also the gear thing ... It REALLY takes all the fun whem you grind with no perspective of wear that desired piece of armor or that sword you've been lvling up just to be able to use it :/ feels like it will always be ok , since you can use whtver you want no matter your current Rank ... takes way the fun of chasing your goals since theres not many GOALS to achieve ...

I feel like the only player interaction is begrudging. I dislike people who come to me only for repairs and random synths. I also dislike gathering for leves, since it's the only event the game has, people have no sense of urgency and it takes forever. That's the worst thing for an MMO- having players dislike interacting with one another.

Did you ever play XI pre-zilart? IT was pretty much a public beta of a bland vanilla game till it launched in the U.S.

Didn't really have anything to offer till 12months after official launch. I expect them to probably follow suite. Dont get me wrong, if we get to Ishgard and there's lame gear, quests, and story....I'll leave for a good long while....if not permanently. But they wont, they have to nail the PS3 launch, they know it. They know this game will die a slow agonizing death if they drop the ball with PS3 launch.

Im no scared, this game is a complete 180 from what it was during the final stages of beta, they actually seem to give a frik what the masses think now.

Tim burton don;t write the music 80% of the time its danny elfman. Who btw wrote the fable 1 intro music. Anyone care to link black shoud music for me? I'll be the one to judge if it sounds like a tim burton movie as I am a fan of his working and seen just about every movie 10 times over.

You know Alexia, about your OP, I think your post is filled with doubt. It would be unreasonable to say FFXIV is a finished game. It will never be finished the way the designers intended but I think the Armoury system once developed would lead to great experiences. I don't think it would lead to a set build like you said. Freedom would let you design your own niche, instead of tank, healer, dps. Maybe there would be no tank if you had 3 players using different abilities. I say to just trust them to finish the game, and with the new leadership I think it will turn out better than ever as long as decisions aren't based on your panic and fear.

Now I'll tell you how I feel about FFXIV.

I was expecting FFXI-2 as well. In other words, a game with a lot of promise but a massive FAIL like FFXI. With so many players trying MMOs (millions) to run such an unpopular game for 8 years is a huge fail to me, and not even like some indie rock band that just never got everyone's attention. FFXI got a lot of attention. It was front and center when it launched on all the game news websites. Because it was such a fail of a game it drove everyone that tried it away, except a few sadomasochistic people (present company excluded perhaps.) So in other words, I was expecting FFXIV to drive me away.

Instead, I was really charmed. FFXIV blew me away. I wasn't expecting a guildleve fest though, but I think in the back of my mind I thought that was all there was because of beta testing. Still, because I played FFXI, I knew that eventually the game would match it content wise, gameplay wise, and menu wise.

Kilta, it does sound like a Harry Potter movie music to me.

You now being a rude troll who is acting like a 80 year old guy who thinks its ok to beat a child then give them a time out.

Sorry I like such options as they are helpful in parties a 20 gld + cure 3 makes them a pld, with nice self curing which helps out in the long run.

And I bet you never played ffxi. Levequests are glorified FOV pages which are popular in ffxi for both party and solo play. It gives you direction instead of grinding for sake of. Which is boring more so solo and alone.

ffxi wasn't a fail actually. it only had 1 server merge and only in its 7th year. FFxi was imo more fuin with a better community then say WoW or Aion. Both these mmo have piss poor communities who's help includes lol learn2play.
