Why the other casters need buffs and Red Mage does not need a nerf.

It just feels unfair, if a class that has an easy time adjusting their dps to mechanics like Rdm has such high numbers. On the other hand a class that has it hard dealing with mechanics and a complex rotation on top of it like Blm (yes our lv70 rotation might look easy on paper but go try keeping it up in a real fight) pulls only slightly higher numbers.
That being said, I don't mind Rdm as much, it's far less over powered than Sam.

I wouldn't say that makes a rotation "complex", just that any mistake is punished FAR more than probably necessary. Every class needs to compensate to some degree for mechanics so ideals are always tossed aside.

Yeah agreed, punishing is the better word.

Since they asked for more feedback I'll say I like RDM the way it is. I can understand that BLM and SMN seem to have some complaints, and if they get some QoL adjustments it might go a long way in helping that. SMN especially seems to have some flow issues with their new CDs. But BLM and SMN are also more planned out rotations and RDM is more reactive. Please don't ask them to take away a playstyle from us just because you aren't happy with certain things currently about another class. Ask them to buff and fix problems!

I would list a complaint for RDM that Impact as a spell is... not Impactful. Procs are honestly not that rare, combined with time spent in melee combos. This means that my first Impact of a fight is usually not used, or that it lines up perfectly with expiring mid cast. So my choices with it are often ignore, or save Swiftcast for it, neither of which is ideal. With it being an > level 60 ability and with it having such a cool animation I feel it could do more than it does now, or at the very least could be added to our job gauge as a buff with no expiration time.

Youre my favorite poster today I dont think RDM needs a nerf, a lot of these sus ex numbers also equate to mobility, and TA boosts healers casters and anyones dps, while embolden only aids a specific setup for melee or phys ranged, and it deteriorates rather fast as well, Buff BLM and SMN due to the mobility issues with the fight, but as stated above, RDM burst does require it to be in melee range so theres a downside

I agree that RDM's are in a good place, regardless of people's thoughts on EMBLODEN OP, that is their only raid utility. If they need to nerf it down to appease fine, but it doesn't discount the clunkiness BLM's and SMN's have to face with their rotations. There's no doubt BLM's should dps highest for casters because of their terribly locked down turret playstyle that mechanics intentionally force you out of. I've heard how punishing SMN's have with their tight rotations with aetherflow. Future content will account for whatever QoL buffs jobs get. There is not doubt that caster's will have a re-balance in patch 4.05 but I seriously don't think nerfing potencies and raid utility on red mage will address the issues BLM's and SMN's face. Still if they do nerf RDM it's for good reason.

But that's just me, coming from a bard that use to spit out raging strikes for all our casters, and switching to RDM.

uhm... my static took a normal fc member out for the ex-primale clears yesterday - a member which never fought any ex-primal before not in arr nor hw that being said she has no trial experience at all - but took the aggro in her not-perfect-just-intuitv opener on both Lakshmi and Susano out off the main tank who's raiding since 2.0.

Even if Sam is still stronger Rdm is way overpowered in burst phases as well...

edit: k i have to mention that Brd & Smn were part of the grp as well but still... their output is really heavy...

I would go a step further and say BLM should be highest dps of all jobs.
By SE own statement in the this post http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...80#post4263080 BLM is the most "qualified" for these points.
Infact BLM is currently the only DPS job in the game without a job specific party dps buff. While SAM lacks a unique job buff, they atleast share one with NIN and WAR.

They can't make Blm as op as sam cause everybody knows that Blm is Yoshis favorite cls – they would get a huge shitstorm if Blm would be way on top leaving all others behind.... ^^'
