I also thought Zell's board from ff8 would be pretty swag.

Yeah if you're saying we don't have the tech for motorcycles when we have mechwalkers, I don't know how to help you. You're wrong.
I want a bicycle.
A perfectly normal bicycle. Cuz I'm plain like that.
A bicycle would be nice, but seeing speed 3 would be hilarious, so, double yes.
But yeah, anyone saying it doesn't fit has never paid attention to the game or lore AT ALL. This is a story about lesser nations coming together and advancing into a new era as they combat a severely technologically superior enemy and retrofit their own weapons against them and even advance them further. Machinist is a class, so you can't call this medieval fantasy. It's a Fantasy Industrial Age shot forward by high tech enemies.
Motorbikes and mentioning FF8...
I kind of want the bikes used by the Galbadian Army in FF8

While a flying motorbike would be silly, a rocket powered jump in it's place might work for most cases...
no thanks to the bike.
Bandannas?! Ruffled, pointy hair with a ponytail?! Surely this is from a world too technologically advanced not to cause an all-consuming black hole if entered into our own!
Or they could just be hair. Maybe.
(Admittedly, there were the shitty replica weapons, too, but I haven't seen them since release week.)
Take anyone who hasn't seen the FFXIII characters and ask them, "do these hairstyles convey a conflicting world design?" I doubt they'd give a damn one way or the other.
Alternatively, take an advanced magitek gunship from XIII (or, say, a high-speed motorcycle from VII) when airships thus far are limited to basic magitek or traditional cannons and a literal propeller ship beneath a dirigible balloon and the primary mode of travel is an oversized chicken and then ask the same question. They'd probably then at least have a basis for an opinion, if not an outright affirmative.
