A consern about space efficieny since stormblood is not getting enough space increase

...do you seriously keep stacks of every single gatherable item in the game "just in case" you need it to craft something? Use the MB. Sell what you're not using currently and buy/gather it again if you do need it. 3.0 items DID use 2.0 mats, and I had no trouble crafting all my own gear as I leveled all my jobs through it, using only 2 retainers to store them.

I do agree, I would like to see more inventory as well but it is a start. They could have just said "Here is 5 more, 3 for HW, 2 for SB" and left it at that. They have stated this is just a start, if servers hold out with no issue, we could see further inventory expansion in 4.1 or so. As it stands, I have actually cleared out a good amount of glamour just cus I was holding onto event gear that I could re-buy from the salvager.

And you can get rid of gear you get from the MSQ that can be rebought from the Salvager (like the Scion Adventurer gear we just got)

I was speaking in general, basically any gear that can be re-obtained.

A lot of people are mentioning that there is likely to be a further incr2ease later on, even as early as 4.1. I'll eat my hat if there is, I'm betting on this was just the polite way to keep people's hopes alive. A mitigation technique for the good news nay-sayers that want more than what they'll be offering. They very rarely outright give a hard definition of what will and wont become of the game, unless it's against their core philosophy.

I wouldn't expect more item slots than the initially promised ones sooner than later.

My only real comment on this is that given how beast tribe currency works I don't think they can go in the currency tab - not as it currently works. There is however no reason it couldn't be changed to work more like tomestones.

If they do not change it there is no reason why it shouldn't be in key items. I have never once even come close to filling this tab. Atma, luminous crystals, light glass, etc should be in key items as well.

They don't really need to increase raw invent room that much if they got smarter about how things were stored. Why no gear tab for baits (or a tacklebox)? Why aren't more items in the key items tab? Straight up increasing invent slots really isn't going to help in the long term so long as the billion currencies and specific quest items we have are taking up bag space rather than being in key items or currency listing.

I disagree that it is enough of a start though since we been waiting for more room since HW! They kept throwing more and more gear since HW, more and more glams, but no where to put it other then buying retainers (that cost too much) The reason I made this thread is because I am disappointed for so little waiting for so long. (also how they worded it, they said something along the lines of adding much more room to be fitting for the future, and right now it is just covering a bit of the past) They need to add room to fit what we should got in HW, and for SB. Right now the room being added would be fitting for HW release, not SB, we need more (or less item bloating, they just kept making it worse since HW's release) Since for some reason they cannot do this, I be fine with this little addition if they decrease the item bloating. We are given too much items to be put in inventory, like all the currencies, all the fish bait and so on. (it would be nice to have different tabs or type a stash away for BTN/MIN/FSH that you can easily transfer to retainers when done.

But on its own, it is not enough, and it is not enough to those that been overpaying for space all this time.

Also even the armoire is lacking storable gear that should be allowed.

Yep, that is the reason for this thread, if they can't add enough space to fit all that, they need to decrease the bloat.

By this point, 4.1 has its feature set (at least the major stuff) already mapped out. Anything that's still in the "lets wait and see" category is at least an expansion or two away. So that statement means there'll be nothing more in Stormblood, but maybe we can hope for some more around 6.0 or so.

This inventory extension we're getting now is just the one we were supposed to get at the start of Heavensward. (It was already badly needed in ARR, especially once we were a few patch cycles into it.) It's already a full expansion cycle behind.

It's rewarded just like tomestones. It's traded to an NPC for other items just like tomestones. It's untradeable/unsellable just like tomestones. Other than being in our inventory rather than the currency window, what other differences do you see?
