They didn't say that Samurai is coming in Stormblood, right? Maybe the other job is Beastmaster. So just because Red Mage is a DD doesn't mean we can't have Samurai as a DD. But if it's 2 DDs in the same expansion I'll be happy.

Why does everyone think that the shortage of tanks is a result of not enough tank classes/jobs? People don't tank because it has a decent amount of responsibility attached to it. All adding another tank class/job will do is shift the actual number tanks playing to a different one.
I really want SAM in the game, and if it's added as dps I'll finally be able to ditch DRG as my main (I prefer 2hd sword weilding dps classes), but adding it as a tank isn't gonna change the fact I don't want to main a tank....so I won't.
By the same token, to go off the example of the job I'm wanting (Dancer), as much as I want to play Dancer, if it's a DPS I flat out refuse. I hate being a DPS. I mean irrationally hate. I only put up with it for friends when needed, but scurry back to my tanks and healers at the first opportunity. I also will not tackle any current expansion content as a DPS.
Does it matter? Shortage is shortage.
I actually like tanking, and have done it regularly in other mmos, but you can see by looking me up on the Lodestone that I have only recently started leveling a tank. I think a lot of people are like me - I prefer to learn content in games as a dps, and have only recently gotten to a point where I feel comfortable enough to actually tank in this game. Basically it's a learning thing for me. I'd rather learn 1st before taking the lead as a a tank.
All you have to do is go read through all the comments in this thread http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ry.-Let-s-vent. regarding "bad tanks" to see why I prefer to do things this way.
