My only problem with jumping is that 99% of jumps will be done out of boredom.

Yeah, exactly. They are just going to stop development on jump and the new zones with jump in mind all for a loud mouthed minority with a barbaric MMO agenda. That is totally in their best interest.

Haven't you stopped to think that with 2.0 they don't want to shoot for a niche market of players like yourselves? That's what FFXI was and SE was comfortable with that. They were comfortable with making another MMO for the same group of people til it failed. Maybe they want to be bigger and not lock out a market that is starving for the next best MMO. It's actually a really good time for them to redevelop the game and release 2.0. Leaving out these MMO standards would be a terrible representation of a next gen MMO. Something they are going for.

Sorry. Your niche MMO is dead and is slowly being developed into a more mainstream market in mind. Get over it.

Why do you continually attack a specific playerbase? You do know you can't jump in Rappelz or Ragnarok online right? Why not call out "Ragnarok fanboys"? I swear people that hate FFXI are finding every excuse to blame the people that play that game, it's not their fault FFXIV was poorly received.

just make jump an emote, the the ppl that want jump have a jump /jump. and implement in such away it won't affect the game with ppl jumping around fields like rabbits

This is exactly what it's going to be, since Yoshida did mention the word "Emote" in conjunction with Jump. So unless that changes, it is just an animation to make people not feel tied down to the world.

I really didn't think this rage would last until now; I don't think it's hard to adapt to a word where you're not tied to the floor, even if other people jump on my screen and I, like, see it. I see lots of bullshit other people do that drives me nuts. (Dealing with others? In an MMO? I mean, if I have to deal with your attitude ruining my good time, you can deal with your own rage at seeing my jumps.)

Jumping is going to be awesome, and annoying the people who don't like it will be even better.
