Enough with the Feast matchup nonsense

You might feel at the mercy of your healer, but I feel like I'm at the mercy of the dps just as much. If the other team pulls 100k more damage than mine, there is a very high chance I'm going to lose if the healer on the other side is anything decent and pulls similar healing numbers.

It's the same story on all sides of the board, if we're being honest. Role divisions ensure that having one major deficiency on the team in any position can be catastrophic, because the remaining jobs do not have the tools to adequately cover for that deficiency. We can supplement one another, but we cannot substitute for one another. All things considered, I've seen just as many matches get thrown out by bad heals as I have by bad dps.

The real problem is avoiding repeat performances, because the DF has a tendency to lump the same people together in consecutive matches. In some cases, it can't be helped. There just isn't enough players to go around. It's definitely something to watch out for, though. If I start to see the same faces over and over, I consider just calling it quits for the night or taking a break for a while (maybe run a roulette or something) to let the DF reshuffle the players.

Instead of all the blaming and trash talking your own teammates, considered working as a team to shore up your weaknesses and exploit the other team weaknesses.

I also see some of the most toxic players are newbies with no goal trying to advance in the feast.

I'll agree that most of the toxicity I have seen comes from players unfamiliar with the inner workings of the Feast and PvP in general. Particular cases that struck me was the tank with 10 stacks expecting me to keep him alive through the 15k damage he took in a second or people that look at the healing scoreboard and complain that the nocturnal astrologian didn't have as much healing as the white mage on the other team (if his number was half the other, he did). On the other hand, to say they have "no goal" is probably inaccurate as they wouldn't have a reason to complain about anything otherwise. Veteran players know the music and might show some disappointment (and I'm usually even more disappointed myself because sometimes I know I could have done better and kept them alive), but they'll quickly move on and go back to the match. That said, I'm probably not the best example because, without being the best healer out there, I do think I do well enough.

If I am bad at pvp I wanna play against other bad players.

If I am good in pvp I wanna play against and! with other good players.

It is a joke when people tell newbies to go feast 8vs8, because it is dead. Then they go shatter and destroy ice crystals 24/7.

Besides all other potentially flaws this is what disturbs me most and I dont know if new pvp content can compensate this issue.
They need a bigger pvp base I know, but there can be better solutions as to throw them all together just so the queue is 30sec shorter.
Some people just like the very essence of pvp and to join into an epic battle with players on both sides who know what they are doing is the best thing that can happen in terms of fun.

I actually had a game where it was two platinums and two unranked players vs a gold and silver team.

The double platinum team lost obviously.

It is pretty asinine to think simply balancing the numbers will create balanced teams that will provide fair games.

edit: I actually found the game on my twitch stream vod. They had one bronze player but the unranked summoner on my team has been playing for months and still hasn't been able to get 8-10 wins to get out of unranked. Shows how god awful some of these unranked players are that they can't manage to win a at all. Matchmaking in any game aims to make people have a 50% winrate in the rank they belong in, but these people just aren't able to win!!! It is disgusting. I have said before that some people literally deserve negative rating because of this because the matchmaking really is a joke.

That why I just stopped feast, taking a break from it. I could just never get above silver. I played feast like hours a day too.

I always wonder why players that run feast for that long can\\'t even get bronze. They must be tomb farming or just messing with players matches.

You can carry only so much before wreaking yourself. A good healer can't carry bad dps. A good dps can't carry a bad healer. Tanks though should have 50% win rate with any team composition because they least influence the match (they are basically not-targeted semi-melee if a WAR, not-targeted semi-healer if a PLD and a waste of space if a DRK).
