While competing can be exciting at times, it doesn't really serve a justifiable place in a non-PvP game.
Cooperating is soooooo much more efficient and proves that there are still decent people on the internet.

Yeah if it's just camping some mobs, my friends and I wont care if someone strolls up, or if we see someone camping an area we want. We just stroll along or something. Unless its a damn quest area. I had a quest where I had to kill the floating eye things in Nanawa Mines... Like huge camp just wiping everything every time - guess I cant finish that! haha. We went in to kill a few and proceeded to be made fun of. haha.
And NMs... We were doing the Ifrit Bleeds quest where you have to kill the NMs. This dude killed Nest Commander like 10 times as we all watched. After the 10th we figured we would just spam emote him until he got the message. I think it finally clicked and he laughed and ran away.
I can see some people getting pissed at some of the things I've encountered, but it's a game, just laugh at it!
Ignoring everyone responses before I post: It goes with the territory!
_If you can't handle camping over or being camped over, I guess you suck in real life too.
_The development team can provide a big enough world with as much locations to camp but will not be able to serve everyone's needs and wants.
_It's part of the fun because you actually interacting with the game, if not just the game... well, with other players. Laugh and have a good time being frustrated or annoyed. =P
You said it yourself and I hope people can relate: You felt excitement, filled with adventure and a sense of being the best (or worse jerk). That's what FFXIV should inspire the most, the feeling of LIFE.
This game needs more drama
Camping on other people.
Dont do it.
Nobody owns any "camp" or "mob" so have fun take what you can.
