That would be incredibly foolish. Even if STR and VIT have .5 AP each, VIT has lower weight to it on gear, and will therefore have more of it on them then a similar STR piece. AttackPower is so incredibly more powerful then DET/CRIT/Whatever, that even a few more AP is worth a lot of Det/Crit/etc.

Plus, you'd be giving up a lot of HP for an EXTREMELY marginal DPS increase, if they even gave a DPS increase in the first place, which would be really silly to do.

If the split is even more biased towards VIT then STR, it would certainly be a DPS loss to use STR, doesn't matter what the secondaries are.

They flat out said that slaying accessories would be trash for tanks, to the point where any mix of slaying/fending accessory (even just one slaying ring) would be a dps loss. Don't count on it

Yeah, goodbye STR tanks who barely had any HP and never enjoyed proper cooldown use.

And goodbye to the STR tanks who liked to harass me for rolling on my STR accessories whenever I was MNK or DRG like they were entitled to them.

And goodbye to the tank that I was who had to penta meld just to have two sets of tanking gear because tomestones are a pain and melding was better anyway.

As a healer main and a reasonably good blm, brd and mch, I found competent str tanks to be better to work with, they had a much easier time holding hate and they helped kill things faster.

Bad tanks are gonna be bad no matter what accessories they're wearing. From those idiots who think they can tank entire dungeons in deliverance, to not using enough (or any) aoe when you have a ranged and/or caster, to standing in every single aoe.
