Though I don't know if that would've been appropriate for him, I would've liked some more active redemption as well.
I think it's likely he might come into action more now that mortals and dragons have some resemblance of a treaty.Him helping Iceheart was a great start, and I think it was done because it was a different conflict to the one he doesn't want a part of.
With Nidhogg (himself or some shade of him) back, he might have a second chance to redeem himself though.
One that would be much more appropriate than before where he'd have had to, more seemingly, pick a side.
I'd like to see him try again for that vision of peace he tried for before.
With Midgardsormr around advocating that peace, I think there's a good chance of that, so I won't count him out yet.
