One Year Later - Opinion Poll

The game has improved drastically since it's failure to launch in September. Just look at the "Do you remember?" thread to see how far we've come. But when asked for an emotional response (How do you feel...?) You get a Neutral answer because the game right now has little to be EXCITED! :D about.

Outside of chocobos, who is EXCITED! :D about the beastmen strongholds, the lower level dungeons, the materia crafting system... the... UI adjustments?

The main story is going very slowly, there are no real Super-Villains out there even if you count the new information on the vague Imperial threat. There's little to do for people who have been with the game since September last year (plenty to do for those rejoining/just joining us.) So even though we are likely to keep playing... our emotion reaction is... /meh

This poll is moot, you should place it on a website non-related to FFXIV where fans and non-fans can post, because this forum community does not equal the entire populous of players and non-players of the game. biased poll is biased.

Its not biased at all and its not even attempting to poll everyone. However, it will give a nice picture of part of what the community thinks. To be completely honest, non-fans have no right of even offering suggestions, comments, or even being allowed to poll seeing as they aren't even involved with the game, so giving them that kind of opportunity on some off-site is what would be moot.

The poll is premature unfortunately. While the selection of the one-year mark is kind of a widely accepted point at which to pause and review, in my opinion, in the context of FFXIV, it is not relevant or informative. A poll taken after the release of 1.21 would be the fairest assessment of the game I think given that, currently, that is approximately where the arc of repair and reconstruction patches concludes putting the game where it would have been at retail release, had SE not imploded the first time.

While I may stand corrected, I would estimate that any polling done at this point would yield the obvious "It's much better than it was, but still has a way to go" answer.

The problem with posting somewhere else is simply that it will most likely be biased AGAINST the game, IE people who just heard the 4.0 'meme' or left a long time ago will just vote saying everything sucks. In fact, SE will need to do a hell of a job when releasing PS3 version to change this idea.

But, if you can find a MMO forum with plenty of people that are at the very least following the news (even if not playing the game), go ahead and try posting it. That would get less 'biased' results

The problem with placing the Survey on outside websites is that all of the questions require the user to have been playing the game to give a valid opinion. You can't in good conscience talk about the pace of patches or if the updates are working if you have not actually been playing.

I put very likely idc about subscription i just want to buy more retainers.

I also put unlikely to recommend it to a friend yet I checked much better when it asked about other games in the market. That's because my opinion is different from my friends and as much as i enjoy it i know my friends and what they like. Perfect example of how individual different opinions don't correlate to a 'better' game.
