Is there some unspoken rule to not use Esuna/Leech?

Does not compute. In one comment you state that you purposefully ignore removing a debuff simply because the WAR is trying to be helpful with a macro, but then chide someone for their nonchalance towards healing duties.



As a side note, I'm proud of this forum for finally coming full circle. Started with the tank-hate thread, then DPS, and finally healer (although "hate" is probably a slight stretch currently for this thread). <3

As no one has mentioned yet: Please, remove Disease asap or you'll be healing that target even less than if you had forgotten Cleric's Stance on. ^_^

I actually like the Berserk Macro, lets me know exactly when to leech so we can optimize. My problem are with people who can't be bothered to dodge Status aoe, since it means I'm screwing up DPS rotation, and more than likely coming out of Cleric Stance to deal with them. If they repeatedly get hit, Leeches will be put on low prio until at least Dots are up.

Hm, I don't think I completely agree with this. I main healer and tank, specifically have two characters to avoid lockouts and such between the two of them. When I'm on healer, I normally don't notice pacification until it's already up, which means it's too late. So when I started seeing people with a pacification macro "Berserk over in 5" I really appreciated it, it didn't seem naggy or bossy, just a nice courtesy, I happily obliged since that means they're making my job (Dispelling) that much easier.

So on my Warrior I like to have a warning macro, not as some sort of insult "Hey I don't think you know what you're doing" just as a sort of courtesy, "Hey if you care, this is gonna happen soon." sort of like when healers have res macro's so you don't double up resses on the same person. If you don't dispell it, I'm not gonna just assume "Hey this persons a jerk, and doing this on purpose" I'm just gonna assume you're not being passive aggressive, and just didn't notice, didn't see it in time, or were busy DPSing/Healing during those 5 seconds that really don't matter.

I mean it'd be one thing if I said "HEAL ME" or "RES X" because, those kind of things are plainly obvious, but noticing a single debuff in the short 5 second window that it's up (That you'd have to precharge a leeches to get use out of anyways) isn't really big enough of a deal to expect everyone's gonna be watching my buffs like a hawk to see if I threw berserk up.

if i would dispell every debuff the DPS aquire by not doing fight mechanics, i would be out of mana even with my scholar.



Also, the game is a bad teacher, all out during leveling the poisons for example do nothing and its more efficient to just heal.
If you arent coming from like EQ2 or something where you have to hit dispell as soon as you see a debuff, how would you learn it?
YOu arent going to learn it from WoD where there are like 3 more healers than needed anyways






Btw a berserk macro seems useful to me, if i have time, i can dispell it without any reaction time.
If it suddenly pops up during a heal cast or you notice too late, you might as well not bother.

I always remove all debuffs from party members including Pacification from WARs. Why? Because its my job as a healer. The End.

Also no one has mentioned alot of stuff can't be removed. And screw Warriors and the damn pacification macro. Does it even last 2 GCD's? Might as well just tether the healer to stop everything else and remove it. The rest of the stuff you are doing be damned.

Also was this started based on 4 man or 8 man content? Half the dps will have most stuff fall by the time i get through me tanks casters. Also lets not mention the annoyance factor of people who don't dodge shit and get debuffs. Oh so I can heal maintain a certain amount of dps, but you can't pew pew and dodge the giant glowing lines?

Hopefully I am just getting old and bitter and this was ment conversationally. Not as a healers are lowering my dps, they are screwing me over. Que for some frontlines and about 1 out of every 10 matches you end up with some whinny dps that think you are not doing anything if you aren't focus on making their life better.

I personally wouldn't consider this a valid excuse. A few lessons on how to play your job is fine, expecting a game to tell you all the ins and outs isn't the way to go. How does anyone learn how to play a new game? Tooltips help a bit, and then of course simple trial and error, and also the sage advice of those who have already figured all this junk out ;)

Because if you are getting hit with paralysis, you more than likely weren't doing your job of dodging it. And BLMs can and should be using Spine drops?

I'm not saying Healers shouldn't be using Enusa/Leeches. But when you get hit by avoidable status, you not only cut your DPS but Healer DPS as well, which is can be more significant than not being able to use Fire 1 for a second.
