I assume gender based on character model, it makes things simple and I don't have to think about it. If/when I'm corrected, I'll use the correct one, to me it's not a big deal. Or, I should say I use the models gender until told the gender of the player. I don't really always think I'm talking to a girl, but I will use she until told otherwise.

I'm a dude, but my character is a chick with red (?), short hair, and is confused for a thancredish wannabe, or just confused for a male character. The tank gear doesn't help, hiding my oh so wonderful bosom.

Here, here. My exact sentiments. If you are a girl toon, you will be assumed as such as your irl sex. I will treat you like a girl or treat you like a guy until told otherwise.
