What fan service trial would you like to see in future patches?

I would like to see a set of the little defense things from FFVI. The one where you created parties and moved them through a maze that had enemy parties coming down through them. you had to switch between them to try and stop them from reaching he other side. I'm probably failing at explaining it and the screenshot below is the closest I could find to how it worked. Please tell me at least one other person knows what I'm talking about...

I agree with the Tower of Babel. I think that would make an awesome raid zone. We've got Alexander in Heavensward which is another fan favorite... I'll think of something else... maybe... All I am getting right now are bosses, some of which have showed up in disappointing places (Diabolos, Fenrir, etc.) at the moment.

I have been asking for this for months! I can see HM fights with each of them individually. Then when a player beats all four, they unlock an EX fight with all four simulataneously. Each of the two tanks will have to tank 2 fiends, but (here's the catch) if the tank grabs fiends of opposite elements (fire+water, for example) one fiend's attacks will buff against the other's. Getting Hit but Rubicante's attack will give a buff vs the next Water attack from Cagnazzo, etc.

As drops, the HM's could drop a iLvl 95 weapon comparable to the crafted Primal weapons. The Ex battle would drop a weapon comparable to Diamond weapons.

Kefka is a person specifically existing in the World of Balance. Unlike the Crystal Tower bosses, he is a fully fleshed out character and can't just be added into FF14 as Allagan Kefka or whatever. Gilgamesh travels through the void from game to game which allows him to transcend different worlds all the way to Eorzea and this has always been his gimmick. Lightning ended up here during a specific story event in FF13 that allowed her to arrive for a brief period of time. Kefka has no reason to actually leave the World of Balance, even upon becoming a God. Unless XIV chooses to abandon lore all-together and make XIV a party game (which it could very well go down that route) then I doubt we'll see Kefka or Sephiroth in Eorzea. I guess if they really wanted to do it bad enough they could use the Minstrel, though it would make... very little sense.

A FFXIII-2 Coliseum type Battle Arena, where the developers literally stage ANY battle, or series of battles, from across the Square Enix IP. Also, Eidolons.

I created this for a thread because the Tower of Babel is one of my favorite instances in any Final Fantasy....probably because I was like 9-10yrs old when I played it and climbing a walking robot-tower to dismantle it was the coolest thing ever for me :p

It doesn't have the Elemental bosses or the Magus Sisters, but there are some other fan service things in there. I feel like if they were to do the Magus Sisters properly it should be more like a trial (FFX style) than a mini-boss in a dungeon, but that's just my opinion.

I'd like to see Hades.

Rude, Reno, Elana, and Tseng of the Turks combine with Fujin, Rajin (8) and the Black Waltzs (9), using their 9 rings of power granted to them by the Dark Lord Sauron (duh), to form.... VOLTRON! And Vegeta is driving it. The quest will be called "It's over 9 thousaaaaaaaaaaaand!!!"

But for reals, they have included a lot of the things I like in this game so far that wouldn't be totally out of context (bosses intimately related to the story of each game I feel are off limits, Sephiroth, Kefka, etc). I think one of the only FF things left that I want to see would be a raid or dungeon like Ipsen Castle, Ultimecia's Castle, or Battle Square where you are either dealing with a crippling disadvantage the whole time, or progressively getting weaker, or having to earn back your power as you can.

Also, Doomtrain is from FF8.

PhantomTrain / Doomtrain makes appearances in several of the titles, at least VI, VII, and VIII. there's no reason to think it won't appear in XIV if requested.
