24 hour patch in this day and age?

I largely agree with what you say here. It feels pretty standard for a .1 patch. That certainly makes it a big patch but I'm wondering how many smaller things will be in it that we don't know about yet because those will determine how it feels compared to other .1 patches.

Personally I don't think LoTA made 2.1 a huge patch. Since 2.3 had ST so every 2 patches will have that in common. What really made 2.1 huge was the introduction of housing. It was a one off addition that added a ton of new content. Also, I don't see WAR tweaks as new content. It was 100% existing content that just had a few ability tweaks. It changed the game in a good way but hardly a content drop.

It's outside the realm of a normal patch, because of all the server side work required. They detail it pretty well with the lodestone announcement.

This is this month only ... do you really want to go through how many times in the first year they have had emergency maintenance and hot fix updates??

Some of those aren't even maintenance and done are for specific servers. If you were trying to make a point I think you failed.

Sorted..what out exactly? Some games have weekly 24 hour maintenance. Weekly.

I'd rather them announce downtime that takes longer than they expect it to, than downtime equal to what they expect but delay it when things don't go as fast as planned.

You sorted some of the bad ones out of the list which is good but you still have some bad ones.

10/07/2014 [Maintenance] “PSN” Maintenance (Oct. 13) has nothing to do with SE. They are just letting people know what sony is do. That's not on them.
The Bahamut maintenance is also server specific so doesn't effect the majority of players.

So when it really comes down to it there are only 5 maintenances that effected me and my server. Of those 5 I was awake for all of 0. Meaning the net effect on me was 0. So yes, I'm perfectly fine with what they've been doing.

If you were trying to make a point I think you failed. As I said. Simply pointing to that list doesn't prove something. Every one of those must be taken in context. In context that list only means something to me because next monday I won't be able to play. That is literally the only thing on that list that effected me.

Two of the "maintenances" you pointed out are entirely invalid - October 16th's maintenance never happened, and PSN maintenance isn't within SE's control at all.
