I'm happy that finally you've got our point. SE deliberately ruined the game of the FEW ppl that was still doing PVP (with all the difficulty of the queue) for the sake of the MORE new player they could get making the Frontline like this.
This is ok to have more ppls joining pvp but unfair with the one that have kept pvp alive till now!
So, SE FIX THIS PLEASE.
I don't see how it ruined the game for the people who did arena for PvP gear. There is a huge difference in damage done and damage taken once morale is calculated to the point it is entirely unfair for those who don't have it. Phenidate made a really good suggestion by adding in a frontlines only stat for existing PvP gear but it ultimately makes it no different than PvE gear. I personally like how it is at the moment but I do believe there can be changes made to satisfy everyone. As to how, I don't have a good suggestion for that. If they were to enable the people with PvP gear to use it to its full or close to full potential then you'll have a small % of people utterly annihilating those who don't, thus killing frontlines because you'll have a severe lack of participants willing que up.
This situation only arose because SE released PvP content in the wrong order. Frontlines should have been released before arenas. If they had done that, the playing field would be more level and there wouldn't be a need for such heavy restrictions for frontlines in the first place.
thats exactly what we want, not to be superior in pvp but be able to use that pvp gear without being penalized. Whats the point of killing someone when you dont look cool doing it. Since glamours dont work in pvp, using frontline BIS atm just make you look ridiculous.
Yep, precisely this. I'd prefer to use the PVP gear I earned from frontlines, IN frontlines. I've always been partial to battleground pvp over arena - so it's not like I want this gear for anything else.
I'm having a really hard time understanding exactly what you're trying to say because of your grammar but I'll try my best to decipher this. I apologize ahead of time in case I misunderstand what you're saying.
I don't know how i110 gear plays into this because it doesn't create huge imbalance in Frontlines. The only stat I'm calling into question is morale. If you have it, you'll wreck those who don't. It's as simple as that. Frontlines is a more or less balanced PvP environment because there are restrictions in place. Adding an additional stat like how Phenidate suggested that is only active in Frontlines is really a great idea so that those who want to show their achievement of achieving that rank can show it without it being underpowered due to the lack of a second secondary stat and materia not being enabled. Plus if they do have PvE gear that they wish to use, they'll have more gear options.
As for the i90 on T6-T9, I'm guessing here but perhaps are you complaining about how party finder groups put ilvl restrictions for those that they will permit into their party? If so that is entirely up the the party leader's discretion and has no place in this thread.
And with the latest Letter from the Devs, my own bias makes me hopeful we get something like that shopped image I made.
Yeah, I think you misunderstood what Rin23 was saying. Translation:
"I don't see why it's so unfair for PvP to have gear gating when so much PvE content has gear gating of its own."
Personally, I don't want them to bring morale back to Frontlines with full potency as that would definitely decrease the activity in the game mode, but they really do need to replace Morale with another stat entirely. I don't care if they just replace it with accuracy or some junk, they need something so they're not actively gimping the player when used in Frontlines.
I also don't really see what's so bad about PvP gear being useful in PvE as well, but that's just me. If they really, really want to separate PvP and PvE that much, who am I to tell them no?
That's pretty much my stance on it, too.
Oh, dear lord, I hope so. It's awkward trying to gear a tank offensively for the sake of PvP with PvE gear, because, obviously, most tank PvE gear is defensive or has tons of accuracy on it, which kind of works around the point of gearing for damage. As a PvP tank who likes to DPS and Support at the same time, Determination is my best stat, I believe, and tank PvP gear has that in spades. Even if they added Parry and Accuracy to a chunk of pieces, to itemize them like PvE gear is itemized, I would still like it. It just feels silly to wear a parry/accuracy piece in PvP, even over the PvP alternative.
