I don't know if you've seen the news, but apparently Nintendo is releasing an adapter to use Gamecube controllers on the Wii U. IMO the only issue I had with the GC controler was the C stick. Anyway, thought that was interesting news so I'm wondering if we will start to see them sell these again...
Haters gon hate. Gamecube controller was dope. Clearly you didn't play enough super smash bros.
I read this yesterday on Kotaku. Still not enough to get me to go in on a Wii U. If they released a new, nintendo developed metroid, then possibly. New Super Smash Bros. and the ability to use a GC controller is close, but the days of inviting a gang of friends over and having a smash bros tourny are behind me, sadly.
The current gold pay wall for MMO's on Microsoft's platform doesn't make the most sense to me, namely because Playstation doesn't require it.With MS moving Netflix, Hulu, and other apps to not require Live Gold was a good move and I had hoped this would apply to MMOs, but sadly it doesn't appear that it will. While most people (I'd assume) who have an XBOX has live, just knowing that you don't have to pay for both services is comforting. I still plan to keep Live, I enjoy it, but not having to have PSN is a solid argument when looking for an MMO to play on a console. So when it comes to friends who ask, should I play ESO on X1 or PS4, I'd say PS4 since PSN isn't required. That's just my opinion, and I Hope to see Microsoft continue to make changes to their policies.
There is something to be said about getting outsold, and with that we've seen a lot of changes at Microsoft, hopefully we'll see them continue. :)
I'm super excited for DX11, and could support this idea. I think the X1 can do direct X 11, as they are the same company, but I could be wrong there. After which porting it to the X1 might be a good move.
However, I'd support FFXIV being ported to as many systems as possible. Mac, and Wii U come to mind, even though the chances for the Wii U are so crazy low that it wouldn't make any business sense.
Giving players more options is a good thing in my opinion, as long as the business element can be justified. You don't want to spend thousands of hours to port the game to a system and then only sell 20 copies for example.
I wouldn't recommend it, the gamepad is great, and I just played games off the gamepad, but I can't support Wii U right now. I'm hoping that Nintendo gets the message loud and clear that we (fans of Nintendo) want something more then what they are giving us. I've bought a lot of Nintendo products over the years and over the last 10 years been sold off of nostalgia more then what they were doing. They are a great software games company, but haven't impressed me in recent years.
Sony and Microsoft have spoken to me and what I'm looking for in a platform, I really hope Nintendo can get themselves together, but we as consumers vote with our dollars, and so I'd say, until the price drops to a very low level, I'll vote by not sending them any money. (for now)
Just the fact that over the last 3 years Nintendo has lost over 1 billion dollars... I don't care who you are, but that's just mind boggling that their leadership still have jobs after that kind of loss. IMO.
The PS4 controller is so much better then the PS3, I've really enjoyed the changes they have made.
I went and played some Halo 4 last month with my brother after having played with the X1 controller and was surprised by how uncomfortable the 360 controller felt in my hands. But that's just my personal opinion. :)
