Please explain then how Kingdom Hearts was bad fanservice, since most of the main characters from previous FF games were in it, including Sephiroth. I know the comparison is a stretch, but I'm pretty sure it's the same concept on a much grander scale.

You're right guys, they only put constants across all of final fantasy in this game. Such as magitek armor, qiqirn, mamool ja, crystal tower and it's numerous bosses, Gold Saucer, FFXIII armor and weapons, gun blades, phantom trains, Mnejing, warrior of light's armor, seventh heaven, braver, materia, final heaven, zell's tattoo, shantotto, lightning, and the zodiac braves, among others. Only constants are allowed, such as these, and any nostalgic references(unlike these) must be avoided so as to prevent this game from jumping the shark (look it up).

I'm a pretty big fan of the Kingdom Hearts series but it's not everyone's cup of tea. It's also a nightmare for people who are really into lore concerning FF chars.

cmon... KH IS a full fan serv game with SE and disney... It was designed that way, it wouldn't even exist if it wasn't the case. Also, apart from Sephiroth who appears twice as a boss, all FF characters only appears for a few mins and then disappear from the story. They don't even have any sort of importance... Leon, Yuffie, Cloud ? Bah, no importance at all.

Not to get off topic, but that's plainly because the FF characters couldn't change worlds, and the game's story is world based. When ever you had to visit worlds multiple times (e.g. All the worlds in KHII) you the FF characters were again story relevant.

To be fair, I'm not even sure what how that's relevant seeing as Zack never appear outside of KHBBS (and they could have added something too since both Zack and Cloud were in the coliseum).

Kuwagami beat me to it... Kingdom Hearts was DESIGNED THAT WAY, and personally I think it suffered for it, personally I found the Kingdom Hearts series insufferable.


to cut it off at the pass, Annoyingly Cutesy, Not enough of an original concept to really sustain two Multinational Companies Iconic Characters being mashed up, Original characters were dishwater dull. Chip and Dale my favorite old Disney cartoon characters (Rescue Rangers is good but not as good as the old shorts) barely featured as more than turtorial help. Over reliance on Disney's properties, and SE didn't step out of the Final Fantasy box much when they actually have far more franchises that could have been interesting to add in. and Nightmare Before Christmas is the MOST overrated Disney movie EVER! these are just a few of my problems with it)

It's extremely relevant seeing as how Zack is a character that stuck around for more than a few minutes and impacted the main storyline. Read the quote.

Also how is KHBBS any different than KH? Is it not canon or something? Lol

Pretty sure FFXIV was designed that way as well, unless you're calling all of this one amazing coincidence. I'm pretty sure Yoshi-P mentioned his purposeful use of fan service in this game in one of his letters (back during 2.0 beta).
