I didn't read all the posts so if someone already mentioned this then please disregard:
There's an official Game of Thrones cookbook called A Feast of Ice and Fire and the recipes are all taken from the books (even includes the portion of the chapter where the meals are mentioned). The folks who put the book together did a good job substituting real items for fictional/extinct items.
I bet something like that could easily be thrown together for Final Fantasy. Hell, we could probably just do it ourselves if SE doesn't. Anyone game for this? Could be fun!

Drinks based on video game properties seem to have gained some popularity in 'geek bar' circles. There are already a number of drinks based on Final Fantasy. I'm not one for alcohol myself, but nonetheless these ideas came to me. I have no idea what would go into making them, I just think they have a potential to be visually striking, and I imagine that when one is making food and drink based on a fantasy world, presentation counts quite a lot!
Elixir: Make it red-orange and tart. The in-game recipe also calls for nutmeg, but let's not bother with the mistletoe.
Ceruleum Cooler: Make it deep blue and slightly milky. Bonus points for setting it aflame before serving.
Atma Weapon: Use four different fruit juices/flavors in red, yellow, green and blue colors, frozen into miniature ice cubes. Suspend a dozen of these in a clear drink. No FATE grinding required!
*Disclaimer: I am in no way advocating the consumption of alcohol. I don't even drink. Any or all of these could be non-alcoholic drinks, and I would prefer it that way so that they could be appreciated by a greater portion of the XIV community.

Lol, but seriously this would be an awesome idea. Somehow I feel like Welch's Apple Juice just isn't cutting it, I bet Apple Juice made from 100% Eorzean Mirror Apples would be at least 400% better. And I would love to know what the hell Bouillabaisse tastes like. Seafood soup? MMMMMMM.

I'd be really curious to see someone pull off the Jerked Beef recipe with real bison meat.
I'd be equally repulsed if anyone dared to attempt Sautéed Coeurl with anything feline. We gotta draw a line somewhere.
