99% of my extreme primal kills have been done as a Paladin or Warrior. All of my Coil kills have been done on Paladin. I don't think I'll meet the requirement for Warrior, but I should have it guaranteed on Paladin.

So i have mained war since release, and pld is my secondary class. I have better gear than the extreme fights so i don't really need to do them. I run roulette as a tank pretty much constantly for tomes and what not. Why then do i now have to go do content i have no need, nor desire to do to get a mount that is being touted as a "reward" for people who have tanked up until now, when it seems endgame fights only count? And as i read it, correct me if i am wrong, this is not retro active.

The lack of tanks does not effect 8 man content except maybe Relic weapons questline. It effects people trying to level their classes to 50 through the duty finder.

I get the idea SE is going for but it's not a smart solution. This wont make people want to lvl a tank.
I personally don't like doing 8 mans on my tank. I prefer to use my tank for 4 man content and do 8 man on my whm or drg. I really hope they adjust this to include 4-man lvl 50 dungeons.

Suddenly there's an even larger deficit of tanks in 4-man content whilst all tanks concentrate on 8-man content for their new mounts...

If 'active tank' were the requirement, how about doing a run through all the content UP TO level 50?

Yeah, that's the problem :P

I love tanking, and I actually intend to sometime find a static (which seems to be fairly hard though, as like 95% of all guilds are french on moggle and my french is incredibly bad^^), but this mount won't help the problem of tank-shortage. Well, I guess a few people with infinite time might level a tank now, gear it up for the 8mans and at least play for a short while in the tank-shortage thats called 4mans, but it will only last that long and probably affect very few players...


Well, at least with the new EQ and all you might finally be able to do extremes/ Coil via Dutyfinder, so in a mere year or so I might get my lion ^^

(That being said, I don't critizise these mounts, but they shoul've done something else too, for those that tank 4 mans on a daily basis, maybe a different mount, or a pet thet resembles these mounts or something).

23k gil a week from ALL sources is peanuts yes. 23k gil for 30 mins a day is not. Keep in mind that this is only bonus on top of the once a day bonus of 1500 gil. I don't claim to be overly rich, but I have made money selling off food, 2-star crafted gear, etc. So just doing roulette once a day gives you 33.5k gil or so a week. Provided you are not spending, this is pretty damn good from gil generated from the server, not by transferring gil around. Especially in this economic slump, where nobody is buying, and everyone is saving money to buy housing.

Not saying it's the only source, for example you definitely get a lot more doing peisteskin maps, but this is more payout than the NQ Cobalt Ingot leves in Saint Coinach's Find. For virtually zero effort.

Perhaps they hope to also alleviate that by introducing seven times the gil reward for the adventurer in need bonus. Which I would expect would still be tanks in 2.2. Perhaps it will change for the first few weeks, but I believe once the initial hype dies off, people will go back to playing DPS and healers.
