This is a great idea!

With the aforementioned, the excuse of how dyes work in a real life concept are just... Dumb. No other words to express this. We can Summon flaming unicorn mounts from thin air, but keep the metallic shine when an item is dyed oh lody no. Graphics team had done a great job on other things but this ideology is pretty flawed.
I found it's weird that the team decide to go with the 'real life' path when this game is called 'Fantasy', especially that would require more work and make it less pretty. Well I guess it's now too late for this issue, but I hope they can be more careful (or less careful in this matter) for the future content. This is Final Fantasy! No unnecessary reality needed here!
I do not like this "realistic feature" of losing glow on armours and clothes. I think it looks just bad, not realistic. When I first saw it I thought my armour changed from metalic to plastic.
I'm all in the request for leaving shaders where they were after dyeing our equipment. I don't want enamel-like armour and soaked clothes!
Either add glossy/metallic dyes or undo this... it's pretty stupid.
Hmm, interesting answer. I would reply that if it's dyed in this real life way should it also have a real life decay? You would think that painted armor would chip and flake away, clothing would fade. Also if you applied wax to painted armor it would add a glossy effect.
This is why we cant have nice things! XD
Haven't dyed metallic armor much but i like the idea that they went to the effort of making it actually be paint. (blue team and red team crap etc) I personally wouldn't like it if the metal changed "properties".
I would like to see metallic or glossy dyes added though, i would hate for them to revert the current design since "artistically" I agree with it though. (specially since id like the "natural" color of the metal to potentially be a unique property to newer gear as they come out.)
