Ah, I'm using Legacy. I was using Standard for all the way up to Level 50. Until I reached Coil Turn 1, where I had trouble dodging Repelling Cannons, to which someone suggested to me to use Legacy instead.
I originally tried a macro to mark mobs, but whenever I pressed it the Signs menu came up instead...so that's how it stuck with me. I don't use marking macros.
Can I suggest the teaching quest to be "hit the wrong target and instant death"? I think it will be hilarious.
I support this, but only if there is an instructional video for DPS classes starring the cast of Sesame Street alongside it. The quest can be a musical, called "Can you count to three!? ONE! TWO! THREE!"
* Varhaatus enters dungeon*
Varhaatus - Hi all I will be making targets.
Player #1 - Excellent
player #2 - ok cool
Player #3 - lets go pew pew !!
Needless to say player #1 and #2 live for the rest of the smooth run and player #3 ? well he lays dead 10 yards from the entrance
Marking targets is essential people mark your targets, every dps needs a tank to hold his/her hand.
If someone doesn't want to play the target order game it is you job ... no infact is practically law to forget that monster exists until player #3 is eating floor.
I never mark mobs nor do I lose hate, all mobs should ideally die at the same time in a perfect world. Ie. Ae's. Making it harder for healers wad amusing tho.
Learn to either double T, switch targets or hold dps untill the tank gets agro. If you´re not civilized enough to do those then stay on the floor and reflect. If you are a tank and marking your not only wasting my time, but also being condescending.
I agree with marking mobs for attack order. I don't use numbers tho, I use the circle mark to establish who to attack then just switch to next mob I want attacked next. That way there aren't a bunch of marked mobs but it's just preference :)
I generally mark 1 and 2 but leave the third blank. To me its a no brainer, if the DPS doesnt want to follow that order then I'll pencil in some time to feel concerned about his inevitable death.
As a DPS however while I prefer marked mobs, I'll select the tank and attack what he is attacking.
Common sense is accessable at lvl 1
This actually wouldn't make a half-way bad guildhest, now that duty roulette has got people actually doing their guildhests.
Just throw an additional 2 on to the level 15 or 20 tier; one to teach Tanks to mark and DPS to follow those marks and the other to teach healers the perils of over-healing.
