It's far more rare to come across a player who is polite and courteous than someone in max gear/lvl. If there was a way to turn genuine commendations into equipment it would be the only gear I'd see as respect worthy.
So I should shower you with praise and throw gil at you because you're max lvl with an Allagan weapon? Pass, I was never in "awe" over anybody in any game. I give respect to people who show respect, not the ones who join a DF/PF rages and expects everyone to listen to them because, "I've been running BC since October, I have 6 50's! I've beaten this over X times, I'm from X server." and the more recently "I'm almost full 90, you're still in dl/ct gear!"
Also, high lvl monsters in low lvl areas would just be a pain. Idk what its like on the server you're playing in, but Midgardsormr's population takes a huge dip around 9pm-11pm pst, pretty much dead at that point, 1-2 parties in pf, or in most cases, none after midnight. Most of the people I see on at that time are new players or max lvl players waiting for df while they lvl alt classes or just standing around.
I much rather see something to aim and respect than the ongoing trend of shaming that is prevalent in this game. People are expected to beat every last piece of content before they can voice their complaints, and of course when they do, they get the same canard of "epeen" "No lifer" "Don't rush thru content, dood." It's like people pride themselves in game by how much they don't do.
The game is really easy on the first try, did you play it to new game +7 (The maximum difficulty it can reach)? Everything kills you in nearly a hit and takes for ever to kill.
The 4 Kings and the Orstein and Smough fight, and Manus are not easy fights when 1 hit kills you and these fights have multiple or constantly attack enemies.
yeah, but the social aspect of not caring about nothing and no one? Apart from "friends" that may or may not have been selected arbitrarily from the user? will that change?
