Jobs start @50?

I've been grinding my butt off more or less for 8 months and continue to do so. I'm looking forward to being done and not having to re-grind the "advanced" version of my job. From everything they've said these jobs will not be wildly different than the "basic" class form. You're not going to need to learn a radically new play style for them. What this game needs is content and questing, not ANOTHER grind.

The journey to endgame is more fun than actually being there. At least when you have a game with content that is.

I think leveling should be a part of the fun and not a 'grind' so hopefully they will fix partying, get us some content, and give us a reason to level these classes :) I like what I've heard of this system and look forward to it!

My issue is this -- let's assume CON branches into Summoner at 50 -- There won't be any of that wonderful 1-10 learning how to use Carby properly D:
And similar examples for every other job.

Currently, the 'classes' aren't even what make Final Fantasy jobs to begin with, nor do I feel any sort of roles distinguishing between them -- there's simply melee and mage.

I sincerely hope if there's any kind of 'branching,' that it will be much lower.... doesn't 10 or 20 sound good? ^^

The new job system as you described it, is BULLSHIT!
We can make new players start from rank.... ehm.... level 50 from the very beginning, so you can delete all low levels contents....
I'm tired of waiting weeks for a damn news and then read these posts which can only raise rage more and more!

Transparency is a word you probably never ever seen....
The only thing that keeps people here is that the game is free to play atm....

So if your 50 GLA, you can be a 50 PLD. Well, what happens if they let u have access to PLD before 50? If I'm 30 GLA and become a 30 PLD, does both the GLA and PLD lvl raise together if I play one? And if not at 30, 50+. Does playing the PLD job raise the main GLA class? Also goes to future jobs if they add more branching from the GLA, or will we not be able to lvl under a job, just the class itself?

The current setup for this game is actually pretty similar to Rift's system, except XIV's approach is slightly more broad rather than archetypal (though consequently, less mechanical complexity and uniqueness has been built into the classes overall).

I am sure SE knows about all these problems people are bringing up. They would have to be completely ignorant if they didn't catch the idea that the system felt like...
(a.)so now that I already have 50 GLD, I can just do the quest and I instantly have PLD at level 50?!
(b.)Now that I have a free 50 PLD I don't feel a since of accomplishment...

I say, NAY. SE has already stated there will be alternative ways of progressing Jobs. Including questing for specific ability's. For all we know the legendary Scroll quests we had in FFXI might make it's return in ffxiv. No one knows, but that's exactly why we should take this info with a grain of salt, and take only what was given in terms of information.

Now we know that, jobs are in direct correspondence with classes, and that at the moment there is only a 1-1 class/job ratio. However, it's very possible this could open up for further introduction of classes.

I like the idea, and I am excited to see the further more detailed implementations. ^^ Great job SE!

your job is equipped to your class
you dont level your job, PERIOD
itl always be the level of your class

also note, you dont have to equip a job, so you can still be just a gladiator too
