No one would be for this. Yoshi did it cause casuals heads would explode from thinking.

1) Make gear last longer - Currently there's no point in melding your gear since it becomes obsolete like the very next level or quest.

2) Make materia have enhance abilities - Gives you more option say you want a haste build or whatever type.

3) Rare gear/materia

Right now every piece of gear feels cheap and you just throw them away often. It's just bland.
