Except they haven't lied about anything since Yoshi came into control. In fact they've gone out of their way to be clear what the situation is on each aspect.
But yeah, hyperboles are good too, so run with it.

Maybe the R50-60 Gob shouldn't have been picking onions outside of Bearded Rock then ^^
From that vid it seems they didn't make to changes to mob difficulty as the LNC and PUG both make short work of the R60 Goblin. Seems stupid that they can easily down a mob that is 10 Ranks higher than them without any trouble.
Everyone knows the best quality onions are there this time of year... This is an outrage! You cannot discriminate against a goblin for wanting high quality goods, no matter the location.
He was caught off guard. Had he been prepared he would certainly have defeated the thugs that were picking on him.
This would be desirable, but what is the likelihood they will make the effort required to add a whole world of variety like this? My magic fingertips are typing... not likely!
We can all hope.
@Xeno: The video is simply for testing purposes. He also said in a previous letter when discussing auto-attack, that battles would need to be made more difficult with the arrival of auto-attack, otherwise people will be able to just afk while their character kills monsters. I'm thinking a distinct flavour of FFXI... coming soon to a battle near you!
Just noticed that the GLA was R40 against a R50 Gob and the LNC and PUG were both R50 against a R60 Gob so they did make sure the Gobs were 10 ranks above them and they still took them down easy, I hope there is some serious changes to the SP/EXP cap or mob difficulty before this patch drops because that is a joke.
Surprised nobody mentioned the physical level still being present. I don't know what the schedule was for abolishing that, but just figured I'd mention it.
I think they're waiting until the next patch but I'm not certain? Abolishing the physical level requires re-routing all stats to the classes you've leveled, and then discussing how this should be implemented and how many points one receives for each level obtained, and from then onward.
You guys are looking @ this video wrong like its the current build of the game. The same rules does not apply if they balanced stats like they said they did you should be able to kill a mob 10 level's higher than you if stats and player skill come into account.
I'm also pretty sure that level gap will not be the same when the patch is released.
One thing I noticed is that the action bar is locked and up while he is in passive mode.
