@Vahzl - do you think that the videos Peregrine posted show, without reasonable doubt, that the character in question is under the control of a third party automated program?

If it does not prove it, what is the reasonable doubt?

I don't think I have ever said these people aren't botting. That isn't the point. What I am trying to point out is that the way this guy is going about this is:

1) Against the forum policies
2) Against the Terms of Service
3) Will result in him getting in more trouble than the bots
4) Is causing more susceptible people to believe his behaviour is ok and begin the same behaviours on their servers

All it is going to take is one wrong move and he, along with his little friends, will be looking down the wrong end of a closed account.

Witch hunting bots pretty much always leads to the renegade player losing their account too, as they think that they are allowed to break the policies when dealing with someone else who might be. To be honest though, I don't think this community would miss him, so it would be no skin off my nose if it was to happen to him.

I think we can all agree that the STF hasn't been doing the needful work to stop RMT activities, we're one step below shout ads in Uldah with all the lalaclones.

People whine about susceptible people going out and killing bots, but what about all the people who see SE do nothing about botting for almost a year now...so they finally go out and be bots themselves?

No, I'll kill them as oppposed to watching this unopposed message continue that botting is okay.

oh yea, i remember a friend who mpk'd a bot once in FFXI.
the STF wasn't able to confirm that the user was using a bot, but apperantly the user "botting" was around his screen, so he also did a report.
guess who got the 3 day ban in the end.

don't play fools, just report any suspicous activity and keep yourself out of troubles.
or move to gysahl, we might have a bunch of DoL/DoH bots, but i hardly ever see DoM/DoW bots, i think i saw 2-3 since the release.

The thing about XIV bots is that the system wouldn't let them die if they didn't willingly engage something they shouldn't. They killed themselves. Logs show nothing but that they performed a suicidal action, if the logs don't show they clearly are just a playerless program.

That's simply what happens when you attack bardi as a R44 pug. You die. Case closed.

I love all these people trying to silence and mark me. Must be some kind of threat to their cash cows. I'm sorry, did you all not see a day coming when we get tired of this? What did you THINK was going to happen? We were all just going to get used to cheaters?

Square's going to have to choose between us and them. Pretty soon mind you. More youtube videos that show this game for what it is are popping up every day. Botter central. Only reason it's not hurting SE's and this game's image is that it's not even the worst thing about it.

For any other healthy game, this would be a disabling image, but when you're comatose I guess it doesn't matter much.

Still, one more, and one large, reason to not play FFXIV. Not only are botters rampant, but the few remaining people who do play sympathize with the botters.
