no you dont have to gather to get them

BUT

you will pay for the convenience to not have to gather


in the end thats all MMO economies really are, you pay for the convenience of not having to do something yourself


and guess what, gatherers cant make stuff on their own either! they will need a crafter to inlay them(and i bet eva doesnt like that either)

and somehow i bet combat classes will be the main ones "making" the materia.

so it comes full circle, everyone is involved
