Concept art for large breasted lala:

The slider does in fact work. Yes, any piece of armor you wear will hide any difference it makes, but you'll know they're there.
Personally, a female lala with a super-sized bust would make as much sense and look as appealing as a Roe with a shrunken head, or a Highlander with huge disproportionate hands. It would be like applying 007 Goldeneye's DK mode to Eorzea; yeah people would laugh for a week or two, but then it would just get old, fast.
I don't think you understand what's being asked. The slider doesn't do anything noticeable unless you zoom in and not wearing any clothes, not even racial clothes.
These fine gentlemen are not asking for double D's but for something more akin to an A or at most B cup. This would help you distinguish between female and male lalas without having to ask them to get naked.
you haven't read anything the lalafel characters speak in game do you?
Also I don't really thing adding boobs (because they have none) would sexualize anything. I don't understand the concept of boobs = sex. But, ok, I'll bite, when was the last time you saw a child with boobs. And I mean a 5-8 year old. Wouldn't adding boobs would help them look more mature? less child like?
I already pointed out that it hardly makes a visible difference. While I did exaggerate a bit, I'm still not sold on the necessity of a bust for Lalafells. You could just ask them to /laugh, if it's really that hard for you to tell and you absolutely need to know. I've personally yet to have trouble distinguishing between the two. Not to mention it would be more or less changing the genetics of one of the game's races. Yeah sure, they added a bust slider, but none of them allow for anything to be out of proportion/radically different from the genetic norm.
I can understand your perspective on the boobs = sex part, but I'm not sure why boobs = maturity? That seems based on human genetics, and while Hyur are close to humans, they aren't humans, and Lalafell surely aren't anywhere near as close to humans as Hyur.
Kinda like how elezen men and woman look alike in alot of cases, especially depending on the hairstyle. Unless they are in skimpy clothing or have facial hair, I can't tell the difference without going into first person mode. Hyur Highlander females and Hyur Midlander males look alike from certain angles unless in skimpy clothing or maxed busts on the female as well. When I first started the game, I swore up and down that the archer guildmaster was a guy. I like how on all the females that have manly qualities are given the biggest boobs in the game as if to make up for giving them gi joe action figure stances and masculine features. If it weren't for male roe hulkish and very large muscular size, I'd mistake some of the females of those as well due to certain hairstyles.
Hey, could be worse.......it could be Tera.
